Not sure WD, but did find this when taking a look around as to what's available.
Seems hard to fathom the numbers quoted 🤔

Don't think oncourse turnover has much to do with the overall state of things myself, other than for the well being of the clubs concerned where it is a significant earner.
Does anyone have access to the weekend turnovers from Ellerslie, Trentham and Kumara? I have no idea where you can access such things these days. It would be really interesting. I know there isn't much interest in on course attendance these days and at the big tracks a lot of people are probably hidden away inside the bars but on course turnovers surely goes some way towards indicating how the industry is tracking. Trentham had several expensive group races so I imagine they had to do a significant turnover on and off course to fund that.
I'm not holding my breath, but has the owner's' federation finally decided to promote itself and expand its membership beyond the 5% of owners that are currently members?
Thanks for that but I would have already read it , oh and practiced it .
Sold 3 2yo's over the years , all had their first prep at the track as July yearlings .
Read what I said , it was about not overdoing it to the point of soreness .
Here's one to break that habit then Alf . leave the Train 'stopping to 'Hancock' ( a hollywood movie scene)
maybe Get on number 4 in the last race at Trentham this Saturday and get aboard for some winnings on the Bridal Train. 👍💰

I know someone who was standing right next to them when Walker was giving instructions to Shinn. I believe Shinn has been interviewed subsequently and says basically the same thing. @racingoutsider has posted Blake Shinn's report I see.
Google the research on it. A 2yr old that is stressed sufficiently as a two year old will develop increased bone density and muscle mass. They have greater longevity than horses that are not trained until 3yrs of age.
I'm sorry but don't know who told you that you have to train them hard enough to experience soreness , that is the last position you want to be in with a young horses , you can turn them sour very easily doing that . If they have gotten that far then they have fulfilled your third sentence and haven't known when to pull back .
Your second sentence is quite correct , the trick is understanding the horse and when and when not to push . The hardest lesson is knowing when to stop and give the horse a break , the requisite word being patience . Patience the single hardest thing to have as a trainer , I think everybody who has trained a horse has failed at this to some degree .
He (Shinn) added that it was hard to gauge her performance off of her debut where she found the drying track tough, “we gave her a quiet trial. She was feeling the track a bit, so we let her poke around out the back.”
