Probably left them in tomorrow in case the races got called off today before the last ,it does happen "occasionally". Race was after 5pm so no one in the office to scratch. Alot of the trainers are punters so there is no conspiracy against punters from them

There were 3 horses that ran in the last race today at Pukekohe entered for Race 1 at Tauranga tomorrow. None of them are scratched as yet and all 3 are well in the market...so we have to guess what the actual market is for this race and what the deductions will be when they are inevitably withdrawn. Begs the question..... do trainers really care about punters ?....without who they would not have a job....

It is early in the 2 yearold season. Best to have small fields while the horses get 'race' educated and become accustomed to racing. All  harness horsepeople know this and prefer it to racing in the tighter quarters of 10 horse + size fields.  That would the Stupid thing lol.  It doesn't take Einstein to realize this is best for the horses to avoid things going wrong. A wayward 2 yearold knocking the others down would/could severely dent their confidence and not help in getting them race-sound. A lot of young horses are not great at holding gait at high speed just yet. get better with practice.  So you can see Why the Smaller fields are ideal for giving them a little room . There you go , you learned something today. Maybe the Policy Not so Stupid afterall. .  Thankfully the policy in place means Ray Green and Telfers in the North in some 2 year old  races already , and most 2 year old races in Aus have had about 6 starters and therefore no incidents.  

Race 2, was a Non-Win  MOBILE  Trot with 6 starters, this was probably held to give this grade of horse opportunity to race, as they last raced on the 28th February. Race 6, Non-Win 2YO, 5 starters because HRNZ/Entain have allowed 2YO racing with a minimum of 5 starters, a stupid policy in my opinion. Race 7, originally had 7 starters, but with scratching, final field of 6.

Looking forward to seeing Bet ' N ' Win and Mo"unga race tonight . Regan said Mo'unga still a bit fat but looking forward to how he goes this season . I reckon he could potentially be the best pacer in NZ

yes .very true. the magic millions in Summer is huge. forgot about that. The Gold Coast track only a bit over an hour away from Brissie as well. haven't been to those meetings but are very popular.  We lost the beautiful Gold Coast 'Parklands' trotting/greys course (double sided grandstand )  in 2010 , when it was resumed for the 2018 Commonwealth games. for Athletes accomodation buildings for 10 days. sad beyond words 😪.  That was the end of it and no trotting there (gold Coast)  ever since. They are threatening to resume Albion Park Brisbane for a facility for the 2032 Olympics. That will be the end of it here too , if they do that. Redcliffe track very 'dated' and just used for country meetings would not be capable of taking on the lot .

The premium gallops season in Queensland does seem to be stretching out, with the magic millions in January, some decent stakes this weekend and then the traditional features May through July. There are quite a few feature races scattered throughout the season now,

Exactly. We only have one month of TOP class racing in Queensland. The Gallops through June and the Trots through July. The other 11 months are just people having fun competing in their sport and ekking out a living.  Picking on numbers racing , through this thread seems ridiculous as these guys aren't competing (well Nelli is and best of luck to her) so why should they stop others from enjoying their sport., and making a living,  just because the poor sods don't want to put a bet on lol. 😂. Anyway , the North Island continues with their criticism , and has over 100 years of fine tradition and on they go.  Tasmania ( a small island like the North Island) has a race card that includes 5 x 6 horses fields on Sunday because the population racing is small these days. No good calling it off and stopping those owners from having their horse pay it's way . It's an expensive hobby.  Small fields are good. Lots more of the owners getting a winner , and it helps INCREASE  the Number of REGULAR  Race Winning horses around . something the South Island sadly lacks.😪   Anyway they have seen the light a little tonight,  and see there is 3  smaller Maiden fields racing Addington shortly. excellent stuff ! A great progressive club that knows what is needed . good on Em '!!!!   they know we need MORE Race Winning Horses around the Place to keep it all going . 👍

Yes the fields are worthy of having a bet this week and the turnover will be definitely higher but this is only due to attracting the likes of Beside Me, Republican Party and others for the premier meetings in the next few weeks. Once those meetings are finished it will be short lived and back to the 6 and seven horse fields killing the northern racing.  Make hay while the sun shines I suppose.
