Small fields too😵 Just had a look......two races with 8 runners all the other races between 4 to 7 runners.
Everyone gets a cheque for running today even if last.
Is it just me or is the Ellerslie carnival now missing a bit of the buzz? The Zabeel Classic was a good race but with the Railway moved it feels like New Year's Day is far from the raceday it once was and that they're throwing everything at Karaka Millions night when the overseas buyers and corporates are back in town.
I saw the interview. Rodley looked terrified - I thought he was interviewing the Almighty and questions so soft you could have made them into a nice cushion or pillow.
Contrast with the far more assertive questioning of Michael Tabor, Geoff Smith or anyone from Godolphin in Britain. They’ve gone up to Aidan O’Brien and Charlie Appleby after the race and asked why their horse ran badly and that’s before the trainer has spoken to the jockey.
There’s a line between obsequious fawning and tough questioning and Trackside are presumably too terrified people will stop talking to them if they ask tough questions but that’s what the punters want, genuine information and opinion.
Pure speculation here but has Paul got anything to do with it. Great yearling selector and trainer. Wexford seem to have done very well since his return
CJ Thoroughbreds' dual graded stakes winner Hang the Moon, last in the Nov. 2 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1T) at Del Mar, drops in class and is the morning-line favorite in the $100,000 Robert J. Frankel Stakes (G3T) Dec. 27 at Santa Anita.View the full article

With just a few race days remaining in 2024, NYRA publicity recently caught up with jockey Dylan Davis to talk about his season in which he posted a personal-best $16 million in purse earnings.View the full article
As did I. Thought it was clear as day that Yaldi had won from that camera angle, only to find they called it a dead heat. Surprised it wasnt talked about more on air at the time.
The report Mrbigstuff was referring to:
In post-race Trackside coverage, the photo finish footage shown included coverage from the inside camera which was not correctly aligned. The result of the race was judged off the outside camera which is located in a permanent mount inside the Judge’s box. Steward’s concerns regarding the inside camera not being correctly aligned were raised with Club Officials for follow up.
So you're complaining that the "experts" results aren't up to par, but also complaining that they didnt show you some of their picks? Strange.
In regards to the results appearing, I think you will find they don't have time to fit everything in on a feature day. Reading the comments from most on here, I think you would find that most here just want racing coverage without all the numbers and flashy graphics taking the limelight.
Wexford is flying for sure...and good to see Masa riding plenty of winners for them...long underrated jockey now getting the opportunities through hard work and perseverance...well done him.
