Does anyone else get annoyed with Justin Evans dribble about who he fancies before the races or is this just me...I think commentators should just call the bloody races...or is that just me...you dont hear Matt Hill or Darren Flindel rabbiting on before a race like they do here....we get enough of that from the B sweets and Rodney's of the world...oh and Mr Look...haha -
I bet you were pissed off but I have the ultimate in looking stupid . I used to work for Wally Francis you older guys will remember the good horse Anne's Day that he trained . Anyway we got a horse sent to us from Derek Jones was called Game Classic . Derek told us the worst it worked the better it went . I used to drive him at the trials and he used to be mediocre at best . I drove him in work one day and we went two miles and he was flat going 4.20 . Anyway Wally took him to Hutt Park and I took doubles , trifecta's , quinella's and left him out . Well he won and paid $30 I think was Colin Butler drove him . All the boys were saying bet you got heaps of him Charlie 🤣 I felt like an idiot

Was it ever going to win from that draw? With the extra pressure of Sydney racing over Perth? I think it was Mick Guerin who said just before the race, "he'd have to be Leap To Fame to win from there. But he's not Leap To Fame, he's Never Ending". And while being Never Ending isn't a bad thing, nobody would say no to a share in the ownership, he really was a false favourite last night. I'm sure he'll win plenty more, both at home as well as on the East Coast with a better draw.

Jockey Kazushi Kimura left Woodbine this summer to pursue opportunities and showcase his riding skills in California. That skill was displayed with the well-timed ride he gave Hang the Moon to win the John C. Mabee Stakes (G2T) Sept. 7 at Del Mar.View the full article -

That's not my punctuation, but (I'm assuming) that of the horse's owners. Anyway, it ran stone cold motherless.

I'm not giving out her name but she posts on a Thoroughbred Facebook group and displays similar tendencies on there.

Mine head back to the day of On Course jackpots, so a long long time ago. I can't remember exactly when. I guess I've all-but scrubbed it from my memory. It was a week day at Ellerslie, so required a day off work to attend. It was a terminating jackpot, so whatever they terminated at back then (I'm guessing it was in the late-seventies or early-to-mid eighties). I think they had been somewhat limited from past pools by the government, but were still a nice collect obviously. I wasn't going to go, but a mate from work (who was the brother-in-law of one of the two company owners we worked for, and he convinced me we'd be okay) so across the mighty Bombays we went. It looked easy, I thought, so wasn't going to be a huge payout as it would likely be struck by many people, but being a jackpot the collect would be boosted by past losing punters. My mate got a tip for the first leg, but I really couldn't see it. I stuck with my own selections. The tip came home, and I sat there getting more and moody as the day wore on and my 5 other legs rolled home one after the other. I can't now recall the final payout, it wasn't huge (but would have been a great return on my very small investment), and even now I'm really not sure if one is going to miss a decent payout in one leg, whether a loss in the first leg is worse than missing in the last, or not. Neither is a exactly awe-inspiring 🤣

Weigh In is back and wasn't too bad this morning. Guy, Jane and Emily were quite good together I thought. I enjoyed the J Mac interview on The Guerin Report and looking forward to part 2. My favourite Weigh In days were when Karen Fenton-Ellis and Paul Shailer were doing it. Paul was very entertaining. I'd like to see Hamish Mc'Neill be given a job doing interviews or something if he was able too. Perhaps when he is not riding?

One night at Addington, had taken a Pick 6, as well as the quaddie, treble and double (same horses in each leg). Got the first 5 winners, heading into thefinal race I had 5 horses, the 3 favourites and 2 ruffies. Was going to win $1000's had any one of them got up. Around the home turn one of the ruffies Dr Tim popped out and hit the lead and went a length or 2 clear and it didn't look like anything was going to catch him. Out of the pack something started closing, even with 50 meters to go I thought nah it'll not make it, well Dr Tim stopped to a walk 5 meters out and got beat a lip by one of the horses I hadn't taken. At least I got the concession double I guess!
