Extract from the stewards report about it from Ellerslie yesterday.
looked like trackside showed you something you weren’t supposed to see…mickey bloody mouse!

Not one of their best days
As they say form is temporary but class is permanent so New Plymouth Race 4 today ANGELS WINGS is a dead cert
Its quantity over quality for TA this season with a noticeable lack of top level fire power and lots of south island wins making up the premiership numbers. With the possible exception of Damask Rose they dont seem to have any new horses to get excited about whereas Wexford Stables are consistently producing winners on the big race days. Yellow is the new Tangerine.
The Jockey Club announced Dec. 26 that 12 people have been denied the privilege of registering foals with The Jockey Club effective Jan. 1 of next year. The denials are pursuant to Rule 19 of the American Stud Book.View the full article
Could you elucidate?
How is it then that they run many Harness races around New Year in Central and they are supposedly the poor relations. Those that go to the races are already in the district so no extra cost to them, as for the rest it's just the same whenever they venture out of their home base.
Had many a great time at Omakau and Cromwell races over the years and i was never alone. How many at Wingatui on boxing day SFA id say.
What a load of speculative rubbish. If it was a virus then the Wexford, Richardson and Gérard stables would be "suffering" as well. Or any stable that trains at Matamata for that matter.
Yeah Na. Te Akau is still leading the Premiership by a mile and at its normal strike rate of winning 1 in 5. A lot of near misses this season though with the number of seconds.
Dont overlook the fact that the big money season is skewed towards late January through to mid-March. One woildnt want to go the early crow just yet!
There is a straight line. The line from the winning post to the white pole on the outside fence. When the commentators or the esteemed Trackside presenters say it favours the inside or outside horse on this track, its just from their viewing position. How cares? Adds to the anticipation, excitement of racing waiting for the photo to be put up.
You won’t get me backing a Te Akau, horse until they put a couple together in a row. Conversely you won’t get me leaving out an O’Sullivan/Scott horse for the foreseeable future.
Liz
In my opinion the whole racing team is performing poorly, in comparison to normal.
Purely guessing, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they have had a low grade virus through the stables.
