He was right and I was wrong as I picked it in the competition.
What really surprised me was: 1) How quickly the horse stopped & 2) How much it was beaten by.
I don't think it's as spectacular to watch as the old "paralysing home-straight burst" to win it on the line in front of the fans, but then the winning of the race is far more important than the spectacle. I'd certainly think so if l owned an Interdominion finalist.
Big thanks to all involved in putting on these competitions on through 2024. And congratulations to Pottsie for stretching out his neck at just the right time to head off the close chasing pack. Thoroughly deserved.
Have a happy Christmas everyone
Great finish to an excellent comp, thanks guys. Well done Pottsie, top seed so a deserving winner.
Should have listened to Gai when she gave a good push for Goldman. Good to see him back.
Ken is in some syndicates, part owner of three horses racing at Inverargill yesterday. All three won their races. Anyone from Dunedin will remember Ken when he owned Southern Motor Court in Kaikorai Valley Road by Kenmure Road.
The stable-mates had the roadblock on up front . Duchess leading, Jerimiah in the death, and Always B Elite 3 wide the trip. blocked everyone up lol. 🤣
Crystal was locked up 4 back the fence on Better Knuckle Up. and tried for a run over the pegs in the straight inside the 2 Telfer ones and nearly fell as too close to the pegs. If she had of squeezed through he was in line to run 3rd for a stable trifecta too.
Arna had a great night with Greg Sugars getting us some cash with Jolimont winning the faster class. Is he an Auckland Cup prospect now ? could be. old Kango came from last to get 3rd too so is looking like an improver.
Republican Party won so well at Invercargill, and ran 3rd in the last Auckland Cup , so they'd be mad Not to come up and try and take it out this time.
None of them could compete with the top dozen in our competitions.
They probably read Race Cafe, everyone does, even if some won admit it.
Come on Brendon, Leith, Stephen and. Beven, enter as a team.
We will put up 4 of the best of ours and I'll put up the money $500 (Winners take all)
Only criteria from me is that Joan can be a member. SNM picks the other three players.
P.S. I know that it won't come off, as they know that they will get thrashed, so I won't even have to worry about not spending the $500 over the holiday period 😂
Great result Pottsie and congrats to all the finalists and thanks to everyone who took part...thanks SNM for all the effort this year outstanding the contribution you put in here week in week out.
yes you did... I just think Jamie is a terrific trainer...and the TA results when he was there were outstanding...attention to detail is his biggest asset.

Couldn't have wished for a closer finish to the Grand Final.
Congratulations to our top seed Pottsie who flew out of the gates, took a breather in the middle stages and then came with a strong finish to nab Ohokaman who led until the dying stages and just got nabbed on the line. Stoyd rounded out the top 3.
Congrats to all three of you and thanks everyone for taking part.

Yes very good run, didn't knock him around which will benefit him for his next assignment, mind you he's a class performer, over 3 mill in the bank, be lucky if the rest of the field would add up to anything near that.
Well for one it's Wild Night , so you know I have him , when I purchased my share in him Jamie Richards was the trainer , trained him for his first 3 trials before he left .
Hope that stops the interrogation .
Bemused by his analysis pre race of the Wakefield Stakes at Trentham today. Hyped up the two hot favourites- they ran a distant third and fifth in the five horse field. Don't think he has heard of the saying the smaller the field the bigger the upset- yes the rank outsider won the race.
