Define charisma? Both Innes and Bosson have a vast amount of knowledge about racing. Perhaps close your eyes and listen? Then again they are as good as some of the presentation skills of the ex Jockey's doing the NSW and Victoria race broadcasts. -

No it's called critiquing...unlike yourself. And the two mentioned are THE BEST on trackside so why critique them??? -

Yes...agree totally. I might be in a minority but I used to like Steve Davis he was always positive and funny he would be good at interviews post race or presenting on Raceday, on course not in a studio....he is a people person. -

Sorry I don't understand how I'm stirring. You have just slayed the entire Trackside presentation team apart from Jayne Ivil and Guy Heveldt. -
Totally agree. Innes has zero charisma. I'm pretty sure Opie would be hopeless too. Now Sam Spratt is another matter entirely...

Tesio unfortunately that seems to be the case but unfortunately another 100 or 200k will not make a bar of difference to the field quality in those races but 1 or 2k would make alot of difference at the grass roots level. -

Haha here he is again the stirrer...so what if Leith rode a million winners does not mean he is a good presenter, and he unfortunately is not and just because some have skin in the game we should accept mediocrity they should be held to the same standard as any other job available, not up to the mark out you go....give me a spell pleaaaasssseeee....you just look to pick a fight with all and sundry. -
Obama started the border policies with the crooked Biden who backed his failed Son Hunter through multiple failed ventures using his banking influence after he lost his good son ..... Trump could never achieve his position without 'friends" so the only conclusion given none of these pricks seem to be in jail is these two opponents have been well chosen to "lead" the most corrupt nation in this 'WORLD"..... GOOD COP BAD COP, SMOKE AND MIRRORS ....We see in NZ ON A REGULAR BASIS THE DISPLACED HIPKINS...WHY???? HE WAS VOTED OUT BY THE POPULATION SO HOW DOES HE GET AIRTIME WHEN WE WANTED HIM GONE? HE SHOULD GO BACK TO TEACHING ,THERE IS A SHORTAGE AFTERALL, AND CINDY adern the most hated politician in NZs historyITING IN THE WINGS TO RESTRICT OUR POPULATION FROM FREESPEECH.....ITS PEOPLES OPINIONS ....AND WHY WOULD ANYBODIE CHOOSE TO BE NEGATIVE IN A WORLD CONTROLLED BY THE BANKERS WHO CONTROL YOUR GOVERNMENT AND THE BULLSHIT FROM USELESS pharmaceutical outfits.......its free the ad says about the covid toxin ...wake up the taxpayer is in it for billions, while Luxon cuts jobs in CivIl service.....lets cut off the real deadwood....VACCINES

Why? They at least know their subject matter and have had considerable skin in the game. So their presentation skills might need honing but where has been the training? Innes has ridden more winners than most that comment on here and the trainers I know respected his feedback when he rode their horses. -
Yes, as Fred Dagg would say "Right on the Nail" .. a lot of our trainers are the characters of the industry and a few slipped words here or there is what life is all about. Why govern what they can or cannot say. And as you say our Trackside presenters are the ones who need training. Mind you alot are beyond help, also people like George Simon can't stand any criticism .. newsflash George, we are the customers. And within reason the customer is always right.

Sweens and the new person last sat at Wanganui were like watching paint dry...fair dinkum. And Leith Ahhhhh Look Innes just follows what Poppelwell or Rodley says, amateur hour. -
Great to see you make that comment and not insert a certain new presenters name , I'm in agreement , a refresh would do wonders .

This slide makes it look like racing is on a solid base , it needs to be turned upside down to gain a true perspective of the precarious position we are in , especially if Entain walk away at the end of their contract . And amazingly for all that money at the top the quality of our product hasn't improved , go figure .
-
I think instead of worrying about the participants being interviewed and what they have to say - Entain and Trackside seriously need to sort out the on course presenters, I.e. Popps, Innes, Sweenz and Rodley - they are a complete joke to the industry. Thank God Jayne Ivil has come into the mix to add some class to the TV channel
-
Looking at this slide from the recent roadshow am i right in thinking NZTR has zero interest in increasing minimum stake levels, with all future stakes increases to go into the top end only?

ex kiwi blog , Defenders of the massive 20% rates increase in Wellington would have you believe this has nothing to do with decisions made by Councillors , the next time you hear someone claim this, recall the following decisions made by WCC: $593 million on social housing $400 million for a sludge minimisation facility at Moa Point $330 million on rebuilding the town hall so we have another music venue $240 million on Civic Square $236 million on food recycling $189 million on Te Matapihi library $180 million on the Takina convention centre $160 million on cycleways $139 million on removing cars and redeveloping the Golden Mile $55 million to “upgrade” Thorndon Quay $42 million on renovating St James Theatre $32 million to Reading Cinemas (attempted but failed) $13 million on a carpark building This is why rates are going up 20% -
Haha , here was me looking at this post and thinking how did he know I was going to swear . Sorry , Entain have paid for me to have any lessons yet .
-
Don't get me wrong , I love the money they are chucking at the industry but seriously don't think for one minute they are doing it for philanthropic reasons . Your not going to change peoples life time habits with a couple of lessons , For all I got told not to , I still put my elbows on the table when eating , what a fucking heathen eh ??
