Something positive and beautiful , Broadsiding winning the Golden Rose today , last seasons champion 2yo and being the first horse to win it fresh up , a quality field of 3yos , just how good is he ??? Is it too soon to say ? Can he win both the Caufield Guinea's and the Holy Grail ??? I love him .

Thinking of Auckland, I think they have to win the Ranfurly Shield to stay in the NPC, just like racing for the number of people there it certainly is disconnected with the rest of NZ, ie the provinces. Interestingly Hawkes Bay played Auckland in Napier today, now I know Rugbys not what it use to be but why have both events at same time ?

On a good day all the contractors trying to fix it do have picnics , thankyou .

I think that there may have been two incidents but the one you are referring too, wasn’t the problem that caused the abandonment.

Surely they can ship one of the days to the nearby track of Te Aroha. It’s a beautiful setting, especially for picnics etc or at least it was the last time that I was there.

Standings after Round 3. The super consistent Stoyd with a handy lead at the top of the table, ahead of Ohokaman and Pardon My Dust. Remember the top 12 make the Grand Final and still four rounds to come so plenty of opportunity to climb the table. See you all next week. Next week will be a combination of a knockout/survival type format, with W/P/Q dividends, where you start with 3 lives and every time you don't get a runner in the top 4 you lose a life. -

I just watched the replay, the horse that dropped its rider was green from the moment they jumped. It hardly seemed to slip, just didn't want to race. And why were they verti whatevering just past the finishing post when the fall happened at the top of the straight? -

What about the poor bloody Aussie, comes all the way to NZ, gets balloted out of the big race and then the meeting gets wiped out altogether. And the poor Southerners, must be wondering why they didn't just stay south and race at Riccarton, or Timaru. -

And it's in Auckland where hardly anyone is interested in the races anyhow. -
I thought they'd ignore the phone Teddles and I hate being ignored. At least, with an email, I could console myself with thinking they had been too busy to read it. I'm as well as can be expected at my great age. I sometimes find myself surprised I can get out of bed and put my pants on. Trust you and the lovely Lynnda are enjoying life with the equally lovely Mia.

Not sure about the Leo factor as he was never a fav of The Gypsies from memory

Have you taken into your data crunching (or perhaps you don't have the skills to do your own data analysis, probably more accurate) that the unvaxed are only in some cases alive due to the number of people that did get vaxed? Also, have you taken into your analysis (sorry, again, probably beyond your skills) the number of people that were unvaxed but were socialising with those that were vaxed but didn't die or suffer serious consequences of ongoing COVID symptoms. The Maori in New Zealand is so ethnicity-pooled and have so many different ethnicity equations these days that just simply saying Maori means nothing specific. It amazes me that the Unvaxed crow all about their amazing ability to survive through the COVID "years" when they don't take into account that others around them were shielding them from it by getting vaxed, or .... that they were in lock down so they couldn't catch it ...... how amazing is that ???

So racing at Tauranga on the 5th and the 9th? Seems major track loading with their obvious fragility.

100%--classic case of someone who has no "Historical" knowledge of racing. (obviously a long-term racing truant). Not like Gruff and me who were hanging out in TABs in school uniform and pleading "Over 21 " status.😉 I'd love there to be a male presenter who is not mumbling, queer, "looking", lost in the long grass, woke, or simply reading off a lap-top. Always thought Andre Neill was a pretty good operator. JMO--frustrated plus. Like many I'm pretty tetchy even though I didn't have a horse in today. Have suffered abandonments before however.

This may explain why Hendy and Whiles were Cindy's covid choice, Quote wiki , In late July 2021, Hendy and Wiles co-authored an open counter-letter disagreeing with seven fellow University of Auckland academics, who had penned a letter in the New Zealand Listener current affairs magazine arguing that mātauranga Māori (Māori indigenous knowledge) was incompatible with science. Hendy and Wiles contended that mātauranga Māori complemented Western knowledge systems. Hendy and Wiles also claimed that mistrust in science was fueled by science's role in perpetuating scientific racism, colonialism, and injustice.
