Now Chestnut , your turn I hope you don't mind the move this seems better placed since their is a suspicion of racial influence in decision making . Have you taken into your data crunching (or perhaps you don't have the skills to do your own data analysis, probably more accurate) that the unvaxed are only in some cases alive due to the number of people that did get vaxed? Also, have you taken into your analysis (sorry, again, probably beyond your skills) the number of people that were unvaxed but were socialising with those that were vaxed but didn't die or suffer serious consequences of ongoing COVID symptoms. The Maori in New Zealand is so ethnicity-pooled and have so many different ethnicity equations these days that just simply saying Maori means nothing specific. It amazes me that the Unvaxed crow all about their amazing ability to survive through the COVID "years" when they don't take into account that others around them were shielding them from it by getting vaxed, or .... that they were in lock down so they couldn't catch it ...... how amazing is that ??? Now to be clear I was checking Hendy via google and discovered the academics dispute over the value of certain types knowledge , clearly their are different opinions on many topics in the academic world so why were the two who advocate mātauranga Māori given leading roles in dealing with the covid response, at the time there was plenty of talk of discontent in the academic world around who the government was listening to . The bottom line is covid attacked human beings , it can't distinguish race so why appoint two who seem to have some sort of bias , perhaps the covid inquiry should be asked that question . Covid is Gruffs crusade and good luck to him, my opinion lock down no1 was a must the rest was overkill . I've had 5 shots and have had mild covid twice , let's see what comes from the covid inquiry . -
Is it longer (the back straight) than Otaki? 1) I doubt it, proof please. 2) Trentham has a long back straight (like Otaki) but with the big sweeping bend and the long front straight Muttamutta might win over the two beautiful courses down this way. Proof please Oh I nearly forgot! Based on your our idea of a long run down the back straight why has Auckland taken the Gr 1 off Otaki Does it make sense to you? Liz

That is a very good point. I presume they redraw? Either way that must be - 450 metres to that turn yes? Hope it rains a bit between now and weds.... -

Gruff / Chestnut, I Moved to this now logical forum . Ex Gruff ,Shaun Hendy Crunched our Covid numbers and was out by a ton, the unvaxxed somehoe escaped his modelling... This may explain why Hendy and Whiles were Cindy's covid choice, Quote wiki , In late July 2021, Hendy and Wiles co-authored an open counter-letter disagreeing with seven fellow University of Auckland academics, who had penned a letter in the New Zealand Listener current affairs magazine arguing that mātauranga Māori (Māori indigenous knowledge) was incompatible with science. Hendy and Wiles contended that mātauranga Māori complemented Western knowledge systems. Hendy and Wiles also claimed that mistrust in science was fueled by science's role in perpetuating scientific racism, colonialism, and injustice. -

Actually I think Matamata is a better course to run a Group One 1600 than Hastings. At Matamata the run to the first turn, over 1600 metres, is the longest straight run of any course in New Zealand. Okay, the straight is not all that long, but it is not a Rotorua or Moonee Valley dash. -
The scary thing for me is what I posted earlier , everyone of their so called "STRATEGIC" tracks has had multiple issues since this retrenching of tracks began , when do they wake up and say Houston we have a problem .

Looks more like a Coolmore Stks at Flemington type. 1,600m a bit too far. -

Surely the CD's track of the year has to be Woodville or Waverley. They have taken up so much of the slack from the no-hopers. -
Even if that is the case , nothing till July the 13th is an effing disgrace , great track that gives even racing and always pulls a decent crowd . Sums up a lot for me .

I'll go for at least three days, maybe more....but I am not in charge 😂

Even the best trainer can have a horse absolutely spot on and set to win , but , the jockey makes or breaks it after that , and as my pocket can attest , I've seen plenty of great horses beaten by a marginally poor ride , small margins . If I needed one jock riding for my life , J Mac every time for me , doesn't make the bad decision very often , draws and such can dictate but all things even he nearly always gets it spot on .

But Cummings trained it! Without Cummings where would have JMac been today, BUT without the Sheik....say no more LOL

Very true--the "Lohnro" of jockeys.(Or was it Octagonal)

I think Storm Boy is a high cruising speed sprinter , needs to learn to catch the gates as well , I wouldn't be surprised to see him win a G1 .

James Cummings for me. All class, humility and articulate with sharp wit and analysis. Saw him playing golf with Paul Gow? in a doco a while back and not a hint of arrogance or negative temperament which tarnishes the character of many born into sporting royalty. In spite of the opportunities presented by Godolphin I believe it would be a tough gig at times satisfying a "foreign" culture. James MacD--the amalgamation of huge talent with huge opportunity. Glad he has toned down his "Dettori" antics which I didn't like. Preferred the humility of Corey Brown, Luke Nolen and a few others. JMO (which was solicited)

Great win by Broadsiding, who is obviously very very good. James Cummings is a wonderful trainer. A great ride by the Best in the World. JMac.

Strange as it is Woodvilles next meeting ain't scheduled until July 13, what are odds though of picking up another day at least before that ?

From everything that I've seen or read , Melbourne is the go , that might change but boy won't that make for an exciting next few weeks . He will improve lengths so I think the races are his to lose .

I doubt that he Broadcasting, will head to the Caulfield Guineas as that could be too big be a risk from a commercial point of view. Having said that, how much more would he be worth if he went there and won. Commercialism is what it's all about and I am not sure that I like it BUT Broadsiding is one hell of a colt, but so was that other bugger who was displaying it for all to see 😂
