Cold Chisel is a 3 year old isn't he ? If so that's really strange I thought they would have put him in the 3 year old race worth $50,000 , which he may have won with a good draw . The race he is in is only worth $60,000 and he would only be racing for 2nd prize as well . I was gutted to see Better Knuckle Up draw the outside but Zac is on and I think he is the forgotten 3 year old . He would have at least run second to Chase a Dream if he hadn't of galloped . Both of us being drivers know how good a horse must be to pick himself up after that 

Most of your good 3 year olds fighting for a Velocity spot are in on Monday. Ashburton in the Sophomore Classic. I like Harrison John in that. He's from Heaven not won a Group race yet Charlie , so is only a runner's chance. 5th in the Victoria Derby is as close as he's got to date.  But  Northern Derby winner Cold Chisel is going around against the FFAers in the Ashburton Flying stakes?? a strange decision ? against stablemate Merlin and Co. that might flatten him a bit before the big prizes of Velocity and NZ Derby coming up ?

Misrepresent what I posted if you wish by selectively choosing one single post.  Bearing in mind quite a few of my posts have been deleted by the moderator.   However even the best Strathayr's require regular yearly maintenance and then significant renovation at some stage.  Having two tracks would assist that process.   The sward isn't going to last forever and the grass plants will need replacing due to phenological changes and wear and tear.  Especially if as some on this thread have said Ellerslie will run 30 meetings a year! If Ellerslie is going to be the one and only track in Auckland and without any training facilities then it will require significant revenue from other sources and stakes subsidisation.  I still think it is a strange decision not to have fixed the track layout issues to provide fairer racing.     

I agree as well . You see all this drama over advertising fast food , however advertising gambling is just as serious which could lead to an addiction 

I tend to agree, the target demographic is now about those that like an occasional flutter and instead of playing the pokies just put a pin in the racebook. Nothing Entain does now is for the purist punter. Their form comments are just total crap and misleading, and for newbies and occasional punters that know no better. 

I have to say the Box Seat is really good to watch now . I stopped watching it some time ago because it was so boring . But now so informative and its great how they bring in the Whale and Mick as well . Mick's comments today about the Alex Park race where they started at the 1600 rather than the 1700 were spot on . He said the winning connections should have been paid out and all bets refunded for the losing bets or bonus bets sent to the losing punters 

If you watch TV for more than 15 minutes you will see an add from TAB/Entain, it is saturation advertising, just like Lotto. It has obviously worked for Lotto, their turnover this year must be huge, last night's $30 million powerball prize takes the jackpot prize money paid out this year to $224 million !!! I don't know how successful the racing advertising is, the "bet it out"  concept seems to me more applicable to 12yo's, than adults, but I identify now more as a grumpy old man, rather than their target demographic. The UK and Australian Governments are looking at limiting or indeed banning gambling advertising, while I am not aware of significant lobbying here yet, it is probably just a matter of time with this in you face promotion of gambling.

Given the current circumstances, it certainly seems like the right opportunity for her to break through for a win. Combination Bets: 2  

I always maintained that Auckland needed two tracks, that was  untill Ellerslie turned to Strathayr. I would imagine when the track is settled in they could run 30 times a year, and thats counting winter meeting. If ATR could put some money into maybe sand slitting Pukekohe, That would make a great 2nd track just out of Auckland!
