    • Yep. Might need one more run. As Bart said, "Patience is the cheapest thing in racing but most people don't use it."

    • Agree he's a 'live' chance ..not many stay the trip (he will);, light weight, has class. Wouldnt be at all surprised if they decide to run him in the Lexus (?) on Saturday...

    • Comparing season figures up to mid July 2024 with the figures from the same period July 2023 ; (raceday performance figures) 24/  races 2304  -  Stakes $37,359m  -  Funding  $44,685m  -  GBR  $34,923m                   Turnover  $195,373,688          T/O per race  $84,798    Ave race Stake $16,215 23/             2270                  $32,755m                      $37,594m              $34,341m                                      $194,016,871                                  $85,470                              $14,430 Stakes have increased by $4.6m, overall Funding, {including stakes}, has increased by $7,091,000, GBR has increased by $582,000 This is why HRNZ no longer provide clarity around Turnover and GBR figures, close to a $10m deficit between GBR and Funding. Higher Stakes alone, do not increase T/O or GBR, you need the composition of the fields to be attractive to punters, with field size that generates good pools and horses of comparable abilities.
    • Its called being professional....😃
    • I think those that think he has any chance in the Melbourne Cup after last night's run might be wrong.
    • Needs to improve many lengths in my opinion to run in the first 10...lets be fair those  last night are in the 2nd tier.

    • Cup workout is what it looked like to me too...."don't go to hard on him, doesn't matter if he gets cluttered up....want him to finish hard that will do....". MC winner? Weirder things have happened.
    • I'd love to know what they, [both parties] are trying to achieve. Does anyone actually know?

    • AUCKLAND: BEST BET: R9 QULI AL FARRASHA Showed a tidy run-in trial behind Campionessa, showcasing potential but may need this race to sharpen up. With a favourable draw, the horse can sit in a handy position, which will be an advantage on this track. If not today, watch for a strong showing in the next start. Combination Bets: 1,6,8,9 EACHWAY: R1 KATTAGAT (5) The 6-year-old Redwood mare is in excellent form and has a strong chance, although her wide draw (9) could be a slight disadvantage with key rivals drawn inside. She's rated just ahead of Awhina, likely her main competition in this race. With good footing in her favor, she remains a serious contender—one to keep a close watch on. Combination Bets: 3, 6, 7 WATCH: R8 HABANA (2) The key here is a return to the right-handed track, which plays to this horse's strengths. Exceptionally talented and appearing fitter after the last two runs, this horse also benefits from a drop back to 1600m—a distance that should suit well. With these favourable conditions, we're expecting a strong showing and a potential win here. Combination Bets: 4,6,7,9 RATING SPECIALS BY RACE: (AUCKLAND) R2 JAARFFI (7) Jaarffi has plenty of positive indicators for today's race. Strong early backing on Thursday morning has continued, showing confidence from punters. With WK aboard—a jockey boasting a strong strike rate under 5 when riding for trainer Lance Noble—the partnership adds promise. Dropping back from 1400m to 1200m aligns well with Jaarffi strengths, especially coming in 2nd up. Overall, there's a lot to suggest a competitive performance.  Combination Bets: 3,6 R3 EGYPTIAN QUEEN (1) This exceptionally talented mare is regaining her top form, and with a 2 kg claim, she's well-positioned to capitalise. She faces a high-quality field with multiple strong contenders, but her skill and the weight relief give her an excellent edge to be a major player. One to watch closely as she looks primed for a strong run. Combination Bets: 2,6 R6 KEALOHA (8) This lightly raced mare, trained by Paul Richards, is well-placed and brings promising form into today's race after being scratched yesterday in favor of this opportunity. Known for her strong second-up performances, she looks ready to make a big impact. All signs point to a serious showing today. Combination Bets: 1,6,9,10 R7 KITTY FLASH (3) Impressing everyone with a strong performance last start, this runner showed unexpected form and is worth following today, especially as a competitive alternative to the top two favorite's. With the potential to surprise again, this is a horse to watch closely. Combination Bets: 1,2, RICCARTON: BEST BET: R7 RAZIAH Raziah has shown outstanding form, winning both a Group and Listed race in his last two outings over 1200m and 1400m. With a grand dam who took two wins over 1600m, the distance shouldn’t be an issue. Adding to his versatility, Raziah also placed on a Heavy 10 in the Castletown Stakes, demonstrating resilience on challenging tracks. Given his strong recent performances and adaptability, Raziah is a solid choice once again. Combination Bets: 1,2,8 EACHWAY: R9 DAZZLING MISS (3) After two runs this season, she's looking fitter and ready to handle the heavy track conditions. Her granddam, Limitless, thrived on wet ground, winning twice, and showing solid form over similar distances. Given this pedigree, she's well-suited for the conditions, and she could deliver a strong performance here. Keep an eye on her as a potential standout in this race. Combination Bets: 1,2,12 WATCH: R3 RETAIL THERPAY Last start, he appeared to struggle slightly on the good 4 surface, but the rain-softened heavy track today should play to his strengths. Mark Walker's runner shapes up as the main competition, yet in this small field, he has a strong chance to prevail. Notably, there was a late push on his fixed odds overnight, indicating confidence from the punters. A live chance on the heavier ground today. Combination Bets: 4,7,8 RATING SPECIALS BY RACE: (RICCARTON) R2 ANALYST This horse has been competitive in recent races, showing consistent form that suggests a strong performance here. The wet track conditions are favourable, as they often suit this horse's running style. While the weight could be a concern, I believe the overall potential and recent performances make it worth backing." Combination Bets: 5,7,9 R5 SIR ALBERT The recent rain has improved this horse's chances, as it performs well in wet conditions. With an impressive fresh record and a history of placing on this course in heavy 10 conditions. The current odds are attractive, making it a good opportunity to invest. Combination Bets: 1,2,3   R8 LADYSWEY This is a Mark Jones-trained runner that is beginning to find its form. Although its previous two performances on heavy tracks haven’t been impressive, I’m willing to take a risk here, especially considering the potential for improvement. It’s a horse to watch at the current odds, as there could be value if it performs up to its capabilities. Combination Bets: 5,7,12,13 R10 SPROCKET ROCKET This is a 5-year-old mare, What's The Story, who stands out in this field. At times, she has shown signs of progression, indicating that she has the potential to improve. However, she was extremely unsettled before her last start, which likely affected her performance. Despite that setback, I’m happy to back her again. Combination Bets: 6,,7,8,15,17
