looked just rolled out of his gear while trailing Mako up round the field. Was to far off him to of hit a wheel or anything. Chase A Dream was super impressive on that race too on October 11th . looks the one for the Velocity alright. The filly Coastal Babe was extra good lately too. I quite like her to win it (will get inside draw I think being a filly) Your bloke has made the field ok . and Racing for Dean Shannon too in his Slot.. His good Colt 'Cold Chisel ' now out injured allowed Better Knuckle Up in for you. must be some chance alright.. -

Great ride by Declan on Kettle Hill today at $19……for the Maher stable of course…..

Why the unnecessary extra long gap between races. Maybe someone from Entain explain why. Not much fun for trainers from the deep south and Canterbury. Kaikoura last Sunday was brilliant 15 to 20 mins between races.

Wouldn't they study the monkey with the bananas to see why it was so clever/intelligent rather than what was wrong with it?

Not before the Scots were . As Frankie Boyle said "Three million pounds for the funeral of Margaret Thatcher ? For three million pounds you could give everyone in Scotland a shovel and we'd dig a hole so deep we could hand her over to Satan in person".

They are involved with Bet N Win too, along with a whole heap of other part owners. Bet N Win looks sure to go close in the great Dominion Trot, as young trainers David and Stacey White been doing a fabulous job with him. A win here would see them get plenty of offers to train more trotters i'm sure. (so hoping he pips Just Believe just quietly 😄) JB winning far too much stuff 😅 -
I tell you what if Mo'unga steps quick , can stay and gives the lead to the right horse or even be 3 back on the fence he is a good chance , He has really shown he can foot it with these horses . I reckon the horses on the fence will dominate this race as not many others can work , so the peg horses will probably fill the placings

Haha...so why so late I wonder??? Seems a bit weird. -
I owned a horse once when I worked for Wally Francis PS but I could run quicker lol . I am glad the SI still has plenty of horses down there . Again disappointing for Alex Park with their fields only 6 runners in the last 3 races

I want to acknowledge Kennards for spreading their horses around a few different stables particularly supporting the likes of Regan Todd. It’s important for the future of Harness Races that talented young trainers receive support from owners.

some good points Charlie. Big investors get the biggest races. Mark had Millionaire owners nearly the whole time who spared no expense to get their horses the best prep there is (nearly on the planet going by the amazing results year after year). BarryP and Scott Phelan have 'taken off ' past couple of years with Multi millionaire Dean Shannon buying up big and putting 17 horses with them (including Merlin.) The prizemoney is going up , with a lot put in by the slot holders too in the new Slots on Showday. that's a good thing. attracts interest from the Best horses around, the general public , and some great contests. Merlin winning the Grins Race this year at Cambridge. (to give Dean Money to buy some more at the yearlings sales lol 😅) Good for the breeding industry too. could be 5 years in a row the NZ Cup will fly out , as SelfAssured, Copy That , and Swayzee all Australian owned. Think you need to buy a horse Charlie and try and stop the Nz Cups continually emigrating like that ?😆😉 -

The proposed tariffs may or may not effect us but the military might of the USA is moving closer to NZ and AU which may be very important for our future . The farming subsidies were funded by the tariffs that were charged , as I said zero effect on the farmers . Hokey said , There was nothing wrong with the economy, it was just the perception out there that it was bad…and ignorance of how global economies work. And there you have it we know best people are struggling to pay the bills but hey it's just a perception we dems are ok to hell with the rest . -

Trump was right again wasn't he -
Its all good they are putting up good prize money for some races , but that doesn't help the poor struggling trainers who don't have horses of that caliber . Mark has been around a long time and probably wants to enjoy life and lets face it not many want to own horses these days it's too expensive when you way up training fees to the stake money on offer

Those are harder to quantify. At present there is only anecdotal evidence but plenty of it. The same down here at Riccarton. I think clubs are supposed to be collecting reports of those though and the other way to measure it is the racing longevity of the horses either trained or raced on different surfaces. I doubt we have sufficient data from either yet to do any robust analysis though.
