Cop defeat you weak flogs.

You are so right . It makes you wonder once the cup carnival is over where are they going to place Merlin and Mach Shard ? Northern Harness racing is so poor and most of the highest assessed horses are running at Cambridge tomorrow night . If Merlin and Mach Shard win a couple more they will be handicapped out of it or have a gut buster every so often for piss poor stake money

Agree Pete, but quantity does guarantee "turnover" and that funds everything.

DOWNTROU...Surprised missed being in the winners circle before Today but seems to be lacking Confident riders...iF Doyle has faith the 15s on offer in the first tomorrow looks overs

Interesting theory chevy86 , might be true , might not, I don't know but perhaps one day we will know for sure what happened . -
There's quite a few horses that ran on the second day thar might not back up. But, yea, they're good sized fields. Quantity doesn't equal quality of course.

E MAIL From National , they must be getting nervous about the public support this bill has . The Treaty Principles Bill had its first reading in Parliament today and – while National’s opposition to it has been clear for a long time – I’d like to explain the wider context for our position. During coalition negotiations, National and Act agreed that the Government would support the Bill’s first reading to allow it to go through the select committee process, but that National would not support it at its second reading. Therefore, it will not become law. To be clear, this is a result neither National nor Act are entirely happy with. Act doesn’t get the referendum on the Treaty Principles it wanted, and National is required to vote for a Bill it does not support and has never supported. But National was delivered a mandate to form government at the election and the nature of our MMP system means compromises like this are necessary. As National’s spokesperson for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations, some people have asked me for more information about our long-standing opposition to this Bill. Over many decades New Zealand has grappled with how to deal with the Treaty. While we don’t always agree, successive National Governments have worked well with Māori on Treaty issues while ensuring equal citizenship and equal opportunity for all New Zealanders. The challenges of the Treaty are complex and it is not realistic to suggest that 184 years of debate would be settled once and for all with the stroke of a pen. It’s too blunt and simplistic, and risks stoking grievance and driving division. National takes the more difficult but more realistic and practical approach – working together through Treaty issues on a case-by-case basis, including: The reversal of a number of divisive co-governance policies from the Labour Government that would have contributed to worse economic, social and regulatory outcomes - like Three Waters and the Māori Health Authority , Instructing Government agencies to deliver public services on the basis of needs – and working with credible Iwi and other providers where specific needs exist among Māori and other communities , Progressing Treaty Settlements to address historical wrongdoings Restoring the rights of communities to determine whether to introduce Māori wards, after Labour denied local constituents the opportunity to do this. Nobody is saying any government’s approach to the Treaty is perfect – it is something our entire country has grappled with over almost two centuries of debate. Ultimately National’s focus and motivation is to improve outcomes for Māori and non-Māori, by rebuilding the economy, restoring law and order, and delivering better public services. This Bill doesn’t help any of that. Read my full speech here. Paul Goldsmith . Reply . NOW Paul the problem you have is this proposed legislation will not alter the treaty in anyway but it will put the brakes on the gravy train , principles were invented in 1975 NOTHING TO DO WITH 184 YEARS AGO . What are the existing Treaty Principles and where do they come from? The concept of ‘Treaty principles’ was introduced by the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975, but the principles were not defined. Since then, the Courts and forums such as the Waitangi Tribunal have developed the understanding and meaning of the Treaty principles. IN other words an endless industry . -
I would add Marketplace to the "top class" ranking. Other than that, bang on. The North Island horses just weren't competitive on the day. As mentioned by somebody else, difficult to get rock hard fit in fields the size we see week in, week out, at Alexandra Park. 2-wide and 3-back is about as far off the lead they ever get. They arrive at Addington and it's like, "where did all these horses come from?"

You poor thing. Please start taking your meds again. There is no other explanation for your current state of mind 🤣

WELLINGTON BEST BET: R8 BELLADONNA TILY Nice field with likely favorite runner drawn inside. Got back last run, and flew, but can sit handy and fighting on. Will surprise some here. EACHWAY: R1 RICOCHET Never stops fighting to the line, which is a huge asset, would be nice to see on top of the ground, never quite looked comfortable in S7? EW WATCH: R2 WINGMAN Sitting 3rd line now. There was plenty of merit in last run for third. Missed jump, pushed 4 wide when improving and steadied and ran on well, overall very nice run. EW. RATING SPECIALS BY RACE: (WELLINGTON) R3 OMEG0 BOY 3 Kgs off. This is a tidy little field, but if handles the track condition, can take some of this. R4 RUFFHOUSE ROSIE Fitter for the two runs in. Looks to be close to winning form. EW R5 LAZIO Shooting for another win here, can and should, but won’t be as easy as it has been. EW R6 CHEVAL DE FOUDRE Another tidy line up with many chances, in form and can carry on the winning way. EW RACE 7 THE UNDERBELLY Drawn a little wide, winner second up, happy to stay with.

I see Marketplace and Flying Bird are closely related. -
I’ve just looked at the fields for Cup Day Riccarton. 11 Races. These have to be the “fullest” put together on a raceday this year. ARE THEY? I’ll guarantee you one thing; neither Wellington or Auckland will have numbers like them on their Cup Days in 2025!

Go and look at Syndicators website to see their results. One fool trying to find another comes to mind. Good luck to all concerned.
-
But the owners /trainer/driver need the stake money. Remember the golden rule . You never go broke backing a winner🤑
-
They have all got four legs, a head and a tail and a jockey rode them each time that they raced.
-
Looking at the results of the Cup Carnival where the European Bred wins were pathetic, why would you bother. Once again horses with the NZ suffix, percentage wise, out performed everyone else.
