The horse wasn't denied a fair start by an outside influence, so no late scratching for mine. Yes it reared before the gates opened, but not by enough time for anyone to alert the starter and stop him from pushing the button. -

No dont agree...I think if they were seen to be proactive and that happened people would of been understanding...like the New Plymouth meeting a while back.JMO -
I saw that race the other day and he was so unlucky being blocked for a run . I reckon that could be a good bet

Just follow the Aussies again today, should win at least 4. Liked the run of Little Spike on the first day. Tough race the last but $12 tempting.

Because Metservice isnt always correct,as we seen at Riccarton last Friday/saturday.Imagine if they cancelled Trentham yesterday and only got 1/4 inch I stead of 2 inches they got.Wouldnt they look stupid.

Cant really blame starter as happened so quick, everything looked good then starter has split second decision to make, but as a punter imo never got a fair start so should have been a scratching.Bet if it was a Pitman horse all hell would have broken loose, and rightfully so.Poor look on Riccarto s biggest week.

I haven't been following the harness racing anywhere near so well as other posters here, but I've studied up today on each runner's recent starts and have come up with these as good value at a price. Keen to see what others more knowledgeable than me think of any that I have come up with. R1) 4 - Regal Sierra $ 11.00 : $ 3.20 R2) 11-Feta Go Fernco $ 11.00 : $ 3.10 R4) 4 -Commander Joe $ 15.00 : $ 3.80 R7) 5 -Forever Dream $ 8.50 : $ 2.50 R8) 6 -Tyrone Eros $ 12.00 : $ 2.45 R9) 4 - Fernleigh Blackbird $ 16.00 : $ 2.90 R10) 9-Better Knuckle Up $ 7.50 : $ 2.25 R11) 4 - Masterly $ 11.00 : $ 3.50 R13) 4 -Commander Ben $ 41.00 : $ 6.50 Wishing punters here the best of luck today ! -

Totally agree. Stewards vision is there now. Should have been declared a non-runner. -
Yes, it happens in Australia too. This Spring has played havoc everywhere except Sydney and Melbourne seem to have had a charmed run, but watch for Sydney's wet Autumn 😂

My take on Show Day Firstly drivers are so important and they can be divided into 3 groups Class - Blair, Dexter, Carter, Tim, Jason G, Greg S - they all sit quietly in the cart, have respect, have done their form, have multiple plans and know when their horse is doing it's best without thrashing it. Average - many Flappers - Ben H, Sam T, John D, Mathew Will - they all look like the have a bad case of the piles with arms flailing around, wriggling around in the seat from the start of the race to the finish. They are often overdriving their horses throughout the race and yet they do win some races. I also acknowledge that John D has had an excellent season. Another factor that I see being important here is Cup Day performances - especially the under performers most notably the Purdon/Phelan team. So into my selections Race 1 - Tu Tangata should win by 6 lengths but not @ that price with Paul N driving. Yes Paul could try his hardest and yet Tu Tangata might still be too good. Prefer to look at a roughie like George Eliot Race 2 - have a beer Race 3 - Habibti Pat - Blair factor versus Purdon under performing and the horse has to be handled with kid gloves anyway Race 4 - Time for a pie - probably carnage in this race with 3 Telfer runners in it Race 5 - Not for me - look at the body painting - or was that on cup day? Race 6 - Champion 1st Arcee Phoenix roughie for a place. I thought that with Mark P driving Oscar on Cup Day and Mystic M not starting today, That Greg Hope might have grabbed Blair to drive MM. I would love to see Blair driving him because of Blair's respect factor. Race 7 - Fire a dart at the field happy to lay the Purdon fav Race 8 - More cash for the Aussies ( I hope) and my TAB balance with all my Cup Day multi's finishing on her Race 9 - Awful race to select one with the positioning after they settle deciding the outcome - happy for Lakelsa to place Race 10 Sooner take $2.50 on Chase a Dream than $2.50 on He's from Heaven. Blair will sum up the race in the important first 200 Race 11 - Lay Gold Bullion here - manners are terrible. Divvy gone for Nazareth and remember he made a super beginning on cup day from the unruly to land the 1-1 until it turned to custard at the 400 Race 12 - Lay Merlin - Swayzee settled 20 lengths off him after the start - looped the field and caned him. Easy to say the 3200 found him out, but the reality both him and DSD are as yet unproven in open class. Having said that it is hard to find a good value bet in the race. I would have to go with The Falcon only because Jason Grimson is a god and he has had a couple more days with him. Race 13 - Too tough - go home and beat the traffic

With you 100% .. how does that sort of crap comments attract young and or newcomers to the sport ? .. you will find 100s of ridiculous comments everyday. Entain might be good for owners and trainers because of cash injections. But they do absolutely NOTHING for the punters, it's almost like playing the pokies. We all know that without the punters racing will cease to exist
