    • Abandoned races - we need a minimum of 6 races to be run for the results to stand.  Any less than 6 and we will re-run the round next week.  If you had a best bet in an abandoned race you can change best bet races up until the posting deadline - after that it is just the rub of the green.
    • Please note early posting deadline.  Most of you should be very familiar with this format - it's what we used in the Pairs comp (and earlier Fours comp). For this week all you have to do is as follows: 1.  Either pick two horses in each race listed below - you will have $10 each way on both and a $2 quinella; or if you'd prefer to pick just one horse in any (or all of the races) you can do that and you will have $20 each way on that one runner,  but you will forego the quinella. 2.  You will have two best bet races where your bet is doubled.  They can be any two of the 12 races listed below. Posting deadline this week is 12.00pm  (midday) This weeks 12 races are as follows - rain forecast in Oz and not great fields so 7 NZ races this week: 1. Ellerslie R1 2. Ellerslie R2 3. Ellerslie R5 4. Ellerslie R6 5. Ellerslie R7 6. Whanganui R4 7. Whanganui R6 8. Rosehill R4 9. Rosehill R6 10. Rosehill R8 11. Caulfield R7 12. Caulfield R8 Please enter horse numbers, not names and remember to nominate two best bet races, and some form of punctuation between your two numbers is very helpful - thanks.  Regular scratchings - you can replace up until the posting deadline.  If you don't then the following will apply:  if you have two selections and one is scratched you will move to a single bet on your remaining selection; or if both of your runners are scratched, or you have a single bet and it is scratched, then you won't have any runners in that race. Late scratchings - any late scratchings will default to the TAB sub (and second win favourite if you already have the sub or both your runners are late scratched).  In the event of equal second win favourites the second sub will be the horse with the lower saddlecloth number.  If you have a single bet and it is late scratched, you will have a single bet on the TAB sub.
    • Equating todays values to 1840 ?  Over 500 Chiefs were perfectly happy to sign the treaty and all that entailed. It has since been hijacked by a minority for their own ends and someone needs to step up and say “enough”. Most Maoris I know are decent folk who don’t agree with a lot of what is going on. They would just like some of the largesse paid out to filter down to those that need it, but are not holding their breath on that. And the white man is the bad guy eh…..?
    • Whatever the issues you have to admire the sheer determination to get back in the saddle. I don't think many of us have a proper appreciation of how hard it is for jockeys who aren't natural lightweights to keep their weight down.
    • Sooner he's gone the better, then some bad decisions [or at least one] will be reversed I am hearing.
    • Revolving door perhaps?
    • His resignation comes into effect on December 31. After that he is still employed by NZTR until March 31 next year as a Consultant.
    • 2.20 shot in small field , not sure whose worst you for posting this or me for replying. Asked a serious punter down south the other day is he incompetent or a a bit dodgy , he replied im not sure. Not getting many drives at present, they must have seen the shockers cup week and his latest drive on Robyn's Playboy. Nice that he has you as a fan though Keke. you would have made plenty today😴
    • Has been shown the door.  So why is he still in the room?
    • He is riding at Ellerslie in Race 4 #1 Moet Down, on 61kg, so weight could well be the issue.

    • Reading what they, [NSW] put out last week it certainly makes for much better reading [NSW] .........chalk and cheese. Don't ask me to find it, as I deleted it. I get the emails because I have horses in both jurisdictions, but delete once I have read them. Liz P.S. I cant clutter up my life with detail, especially at my age.
    • Let me remind you that in 1840 Iwi gifted 3,000 acres of Central  Auckland land to the crown. Chances are that Seymour, Luxon and Peters know live on that land. When you take into account that Ellerslie sold The Hill for approx. $160M and calculate over 3,000 acres this come to $31Billion in today's terms. Waitangi tribunal's payouts are about $2 Billion which is petty cash in relation to the true value of the land that was taken. Iwi has been very generous over the years donating land and they lost a massive amount of land in the second world war under the Public Works Act. Ohoka you are from Kapiti, well they took the Paraparaumu Airport and this has yet to given back or compensated for and if and when they do I doubt if they will get anywhere true value. Bastion Point was taken under The Act and Muldoon had protestors arrested when they wanted their land back.  I could go indefinitely but what it boils down to with you and some others on here is that you are a "Māori Hater" as simple as that but of course the problem with and your ilk is that you will never admit it.
    • Doesn't that only apply to OZ Metro racing, not non-metro or NZ racing which is what I was talking about?
    • There's actually an interesting phenomenon with ChatGPT and the word "delve". The AI would use the word considerably more often than the average western English speaker (and use of the word grew massively in academic journals, perhaps pointing to academics using AI to write their work) to the point that everyone noticed and wondered what was going on. It turns out that in Africa (particularly Nigeria) the word "delve" is pretty common. And because English-speaking Africans were being used to train the AI (because it was cheaper than hiring Westerners) the AI had an African-English tilt to it. That said, what a minor thing to care about. If the AI constantly said "sticks" instead someone would get upset about that. I'm personally loving the runner comments since the revamp of the website, because of the in-depth descriptions of the past two runs.
    • Knew there was something in Memory Bank #54 about the November meeting at Te Aroha eh producing some goodies. Debut of Silent Achiever (2nd). Won 4 of next 5 incl NZ Derby. Race 2 TE AROHA STALLION PLACEMENT SCHEME 1400 at RACING TE AROHA on 17 NOV 2011 | LOVERACING.NZ At the same meeting Xanadu won a R60.
    • i've heard he is riding at Arawa Park on Wednesday but is limited to the weights at the top of the book
    • Minimum Bet Limits are in place in Australia, so all Australian bookies offer that on Australian racing. The amount and conditions (does the limit kick in after scratchings or when fields are first put up?) varies depending on the state and the code and grade of racing. There's also a few dozen different bookies over there who have to play by the rules so you can gets set to win five figures even if you're a winning punter. The laws came in as a result of bookies spending millions on advertising to attract customers and then banning the ones who looked like they had a clue while only keeping the losers. AFAIK there's no MBL for Australian operators taking bets on NZ racing. NZ authorities don't seem interested in making NZ racing more attractive for Australian punters; in fact they seem to make things even more insular (not pushing for an end to Australia's geoblocking of the NZTAB, wanting geoblocking of Kiwis so we can only punt with the local monopoly). https://www.championbets.com.au/news-article/minimum-bet-limits-state
    • By Chance JJ  he got one home and great to see .
    • Agree 100%. It all started out great, but it is certainly now heading in another direction! Example, I learned from another Cafer last week that I won’t be offered the deposit match (or % match) irrespective of how long I wait 🤷🏻‍♀️ Liz
