So that's on your first win bet, is there any reason you can't place more smaller bers?,

And if not by the likes of the French, who already had a presence, then at the hands of each other. Why the tribes had to slaughter each other when they had a country the size of New Zealand to settle in I'll never understand.

My understanding is that .one of the principal reasons for the Treaty signing was Maori tribes' fear that they would be wiped out completely if the French or Portuguese took control of this land. Maori sought, and were promised receipt of, the Queen's 'protection'.

One of my favourite horses I never saw. A Grandson named LAWN DERBY (by Robert Derby) The first horse outside America to run under the 2.00 minute mile . At Addington in November 1938 in 1.59.4 . Remembering it was still hard to break 2 minutes even up to the 1970's. unthinkable in 1938. And he did it without Hopples !! an amazing feat of training . what an amazing pacer . (Today 99 % of them still need hopples to keep balanced) One of the greatest Feats of All time in Australia and NZ by an All-time great.. -

This is 100% correct. With geoblocking the competition is non existent and we all know how far monopolies are.... -
Still yet to breed a colt from Magic Indy Eyre, trying again this year Photo is of Lucky Pat's filly foal.

How many entries all up between Auckland and Chch ? I remember the 1st lot last year at Chch received a top bid of 96 or 97 k, reserve was 100k. Last time I looked it hadn't sold. With that in mind and less offered, the reserves might be higher... ? Thus when it comes to race day for these offerings you end up with small fields 5 starters for 2yo c & g trotters this Friday. Past years dominated by one stable in a lot of the categories.

Abandoned races - we need a minimum of 6 races to be run for the results to stand. Any less than 6 and we will re-run the round next week. If you had a best bet in an abandoned race you can change best bet races up until the posting deadline - after that it is just the rub of the green. -

Please note early posting deadline. Most of you should be very familiar with this format - it's what we used in the Pairs comp (and earlier Fours comp). For this week all you have to do is as follows: 1. Either pick two horses in each race listed below - you will have $10 each way on both and a $2 quinella; or if you'd prefer to pick just one horse in any (or all of the races) you can do that and you will have $20 each way on that one runner, but you will forego the quinella. 2. You will have two best bet races where your bet is doubled. They can be any two of the 12 races listed below. Posting deadline this week is 12.00pm (midday) This weeks 12 races are as follows - rain forecast in Oz and not great fields so 7 NZ races this week: 1. Ellerslie R1 2. Ellerslie R2 3. Ellerslie R5 4. Ellerslie R6 5. Ellerslie R7 6. Whanganui R4 7. Whanganui R6 8. Rosehill R4 9. Rosehill R6 10. Rosehill R8 11. Caulfield R7 12. Caulfield R8 Please enter horse numbers, not names and remember to nominate two best bet races, and some form of punctuation between your two numbers is very helpful - thanks. Regular scratchings - you can replace up until the posting deadline. If you don't then the following will apply: if you have two selections and one is scratched you will move to a single bet on your remaining selection; or if both of your runners are scratched, or you have a single bet and it is scratched, then you won't have any runners in that race. Late scratchings - any late scratchings will default to the TAB sub (and second win favourite if you already have the sub or both your runners are late scratched). In the event of equal second win favourites the second sub will be the horse with the lower saddlecloth number. If you have a single bet and it is late scratched, you will have a single bet on the TAB sub. -
Equating todays values to 1840 ? Over 500 Chiefs were perfectly happy to sign the treaty and all that entailed. It has since been hijacked by a minority for their own ends and someone needs to step up and say “enough”. Most Maoris I know are decent folk who don’t agree with a lot of what is going on. They would just like some of the largesse paid out to filter down to those that need it, but are not holding their breath on that. And the white man is the bad guy eh…..?

Whatever the issues you have to admire the sheer determination to get back in the saddle. I don't think many of us have a proper appreciation of how hard it is for jockeys who aren't natural lightweights to keep their weight down.

Sooner he's gone the better, then some bad decisions [or at least one] will be reversed I am hearing.

His resignation comes into effect on December 31. After that he is still employed by NZTR until March 31 next year as a Consultant.

Not getting many drives at present, they must have seen the shockers cup week and his latest drive on Robyn's Playboy. Nice that he has you as a fan though Keke. you would have made plenty today😴

He is riding at Ellerslie in Race 4 #1 Moet Down, on 61kg, so weight could well be the issue.

Reading what they, [NSW] put out last week it certainly makes for much better reading [NSW] .........chalk and cheese. Don't ask me to find it, as I deleted it. I get the emails because I have horses in both jurisdictions, but delete once I have read them. Liz P.S. I cant clutter up my life with detail, especially at my age.
