Hate to be the bearer of bad news Gee but you cannot pick the same person/team more than once, for example you can't have Scheffler in all 4 majors.

Maybe thats the problem...just saying...I always have stuck up and defended TA for years but the results and the consistency is missing of late...FACT. -

Brother Johnson also trotted roughly. Hopefully a work in progress. -
The corresponding meeting 50 years ago had 11 races and 135 starters. Today's had 8 races and 48 starters. Is this progress?! Main problem is that in 1974 we had two days at New Plymouth followed by two days at Stratford- great meetings. Like a lot of other traditions cast to the four winds. Pitiful.

Chitty Chitty Bang [Crash], I had to laugh when a former great trainer of mine [Auckland Cup, Wellington Cup, Railway and Filly of the Year etc from a stable of no more than 20 horses ever] phoned earlier today to discuss yesterday's racing. His opening comment was, Karen went home yesterday with her suitcase full of hugs, all unused! How good was that? Liz 😀

Trainers premiership results from the last 5 years shows some very interesting stats; Mark Walker 24/25 so far has earned $2.9m - 4 group or listed wins, strike rate 5.59 - pretty much half way through this season Mark Walker 23/24 won $8m - 21 group or listed wins, strike rate 5.82 Mark Walker 22/23 won $8.2m - 33 group or listed wins, strike rate 6.35 Jamie Richards 21/22 won $6.1m - 28 group or listed wins, strike rate 5.38 Jamie Richards 20/21 won $5.9m - 36 group or listed wins, strike rate 4.95 In some of the earlier seasons 20/21 - 23/24 they had horses like Avantage, Probabeel, Cool Aza Beel, On The Bubbles, Dynastic, Tokyo Tycoon, Sword Of State, Imperatriz, Te Akau Shark, Entriviere, Quintessa, Amarelinha and loads of others. There top horses at the moment are Campionessa, Perfect Scenario, Captured By Love, Damask Rose, Mehzebeen and Move To Strike, they are not in the same league as the one's mentioned above. Maybe the stable is going through a rebuilding process. I am sure they will bounce back eventually.

The "two hotpot 2yo's" as you call them aren't Te Akau's best and neither are eligible for the Kanaka Millions. If in your opinion the stats don't count then it is only your perception. -

Didn't even look like trotting early . quite happy to just canter along from the get go. and ran last. Some compensation for Phil though, as a 50-1 stable-mate he trains won the race in the end, The Gore trotting Cup. So a handy result for the stable. -
not a good start to his NZ sojourn - Y Okubo (APPROACHING) - Admitted a charge in that he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to finish in the best possible placing. After considering submissions the Adjudicator imposed a suspension of Y Okubo’s licence to ride in races from the conclusion of racing on Tuesday 31 December until the conclusion of racing on Tuesday 21 January, 3 weeks.

It's already spot the Kiwi....its getting worse. Not that I have anything at all against riders from elsewhere, great to see them and I'm sure we welcome them here. But where's the opposition? -

I've seen your tips over the months, and regrettably you're not much good.
