The Big Open class race of the North about to go and it's a Great race for the Allstars since 2015 . Winning 8 of the last 9 Auckland Cups before the Aussie 'Better Eclipse ' nabbed last years winner 'Self Assured' in May this year, to end that Amazing Run of ALLSTARS Wins. Changing back to the the New Years Eve date again , and having won All of those run on New Years Eve between 2015 and 2020 (with several quinella's) Allstars have the NZ Cup runner up primed for action. DON'T STOP DREAMING , after some Huge 2nd's placings this year in feature races to Swayzee, Leap To Fame and Merlin looks set to regain the Winning form that makes him near the best in New Zealand. After those Few narrow defeats the time is right for the great horse to get the Winners rug on once again , and resume the amazing Allstars Auckland Cup winning Honours Roll. Allstars with OscarB trotting nicely too , the past year in the National Trot, and Mr Kaplan in the Mares/Fillies listed race. Looks a great chance of a BlairO -Allstars Treble. Hope Blair has his best driving boots on and DON'T STOP DREAMING- OSCAR BONAVENA- MR KAPLAN at a handy 20-1 for the Treble, all salute for a nice end of year collect . Happy New Year to all the race-cafe harness supporters and fine NZ harness racing participants. 🎉 -
this was reply, ........ Thank you for contacting TAB. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Unfortunately, there's not much more information we can provide. Your account has been restricted at the discretion of the traders and this can be reviewed at a later date but will remain in place for now. All accounts are regularly reviewed and if the traders deem eligible they will reinstate promotions. Alternatively, after a period of normal account usage you will be eligible for an account review to potentially have promotions applied to your account. it seems many got the same email , Happy New Year !!! not wishing to be a conspiracy theorist, but timing seems good given that betting off shore options will soon be harder ( note harder not impossible) I get the desire to keep the NZ punting dollars here , but surely with a monopoly with no choice is a bit tough ? I get the book percentages being higher to balance the bonus bets etc , 128% on a few races yesterday , but punters who have had bonus bets blocked still have to endure huge overround books

In a star-studded field, it was Sierra Leone and Fierceness who turned the $7 million Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) into a gem.View the full article -
Well we're being led to believe millions of dollars per year is going elsewhere. Surely price is the main driver of that? i think maybe in your original example you meant "tomorrow" and "the next day" possibly? [tomorrow's tomorrow?]

No it is not allowed in the lower prices across the board, as prices were marked up fairly consistent with other bookmakers. Otherwise you would go with them. Re second point. A horse might be a $2 shot in a race in two days time. The second Favourite $3. However the $2 shot is running today, so it will be scratched in two days time, that means the $3 shot should be really $2, In the purest example there are 3 horses with an equal chance in a race all at $2.70 (111% book). If one of them is scratched then the remaining two should be $1.80 (111% book). It is quite possible to know the plans of one, both or all three horses in a race. -
It would all have been allowed for in lower than otherwise fixed odds prices across the board. They're not completely stupid. Incompetent perhaps. But not stupid. Your second point has me confused (not difficult); "A horse could be a favourite for a race tomorrow yet be in a race tomorrow".

I personally could never understand how they could do this promotion for so long. It was crazy on many levels: Connections could scratch horses late to keep odds high on other horses A horse could be a favourite for a race tomorrow yet be in a race tomorrow. Horses with multiply entries meant you could never price a race up knowing you were not exposed to sratchings. -
This is worth a read if you haven’t already done so. https://harnesslink.com/usa/fwd-mane-freehold-tragedy/ I remember most of those thanks even though I am in NZ Thank God, Goshen is still going. Montecello too. Little places that I have been to although 50+ years ago. Liz

chevy86 Guy has no ownership interests at present. Odds on he will after next months Karaka Yearling sales.

I believe that he’s the brightest star on the channel, of the males. The sooner he gets out and about the better. Last year on Karaka Millions night he was excellent. P.S. Not that I am singing the virtues of the crass event.

My wife still gets these I would guess every 4-5 weeks and she barely uses her account..

Hi Ted, thanks for the reminder. They may well capitulate as yesterday for the first time in two or three months they offered a bonus of 50% for any deposit made. Maximum bonus limited to $100. I thought that they were gone for all time 😁
