Merlin is not a two miler that is clear after the NZ and Auckland Cups. Can Republican Party beat Leap To Fame in the Hunter Cup? -
Looked like good racing on the day, thought Let Fly looks like a tidy stayer in the making, being by Raise The Flag, the two miles might be up her alley.

I like Ange, but this bleeping on about injuries when they loss or draw is what is probably sparking up the supporters ( apart from results). Clubs like Spurs surely have big enough squads, plus pickings from U23's and U21's squad to cover the bases. A good opportunity to blood in some young player imo.

Com'on Rakman . they were head and head at the 100m and then Republican Party pulled away from him. ? I should of put 'more than Convincing Win' 😉. A length turning into 2 lengths if they went any further 😋. Merlin had cover till the 600m . wasn't the hugest run I've ever seen , cruised up round the last bend ok. had his chance. Was a big run Parked Out in the NZ FFA though in November so is sure a Fabulous horse alright though think young Carter coming for the Hunter Cup now on Feb 1st at Melton with Republican Party. (That's our equal of the Nz Cup in Aus) so looking forward to that. -
Watched the Ellerslie racing from the relative safety of Napier. On some of the crowd and on course comments, it looked a decent crowd though not Boxing Day. There’s been a move at British racecourses away from complex admission structures and enclosures. Generally, there is now a Premier Enclosure and a Public Enclosure. The former has the best view and access to the paddock and unsaddling but will cost more and has a dress code. It will also have the best eateries and bars. The Public Enclosure is everywhere else, is cheaper and generally has no dress code. We also have a rule at all courses under 18s, when accompanied by an adult, go in free. That helps a little but the cost of feeding and watering the younger race goers is still far too high. As to the track action, WILLYDOIT is clearly very good though I thought TUXEDO ran well in defeat. REAL CLASS lived up to his name in the Sir Patrick Hogan. SON OF SUN looked to relish the step up in trip - could he be a Cup horse? They always say “follow a filly or mare in form” and BOURBON EMPRESS is improving fast. Whether the Thorndon will come a bit quick I don’t know but she’s getting better.

Yes remote logging from overseas is what I do also.

Use your laptop to place your bets & your phone to watch the races via NZTR App. The NZTR App still works in Aus for you to be able to watch the races & still go out & enjoy the sights. I just got back from Sydney on Saturday & was watching the NZ Races whilst underground on the Sydney rail network via my Samsung. Or in the future before you leave home, leave your PC/Laptop on at home with a programme called AnyDesk on it & take your Tablet/Phone with you & you can remote into home & do everything like you are still sitting in your home office. I did exactly this last week whilst on a cruise off Noumea. Its very safe & secure to do it. Its also free.

Making the bars eftpos only has taken me a bit of getting used to. And using a deposit slip I only use cash at the start of the day and the end of the day. I saw John Thompson of Rich HIll Stud just before the big mile race. Then I cheered for Arby in the 2400 metre race. Had he got up (beaten a neck) the result for Rich Hill stallions would have been unprecedented. Four group races won by the offspring of Satono Alladin, Vadamos and Proisir; all from his farm. I left before he last race and apologise to those people who heard me, whilst I was on the motorway, beep the horn a bit too long after Chateau Vallee got me out of the hole I had dug for myself. -
As Bruce says, using Nord, zero issues on phone with VPN but can't the app at least with the default settings

Agree Houly and I have questioned my continuing membership for some time. Too many areas of the Members Stand for the "knobs" only, Carbine Room seems to be exclusive Asian precinct and male dress attire not in keeping with the expected standards. (Including recently Bishop Tamaki in frayed chinos , T shirt and track shoes--tithing on the decline? or needing a quick getaway).🤨 As for today I thought the "crowd"( Loose definition) was below par but I liked that the spread of results included a number of small time players without the usual domination of the "big dogs". Maybe the stipes need to have a word about "easing the tempo" that puts runners at risk but overall the racing, track and varied results were very positive. IMO.

That used to be me. But then I got sick of the changing array of rooms/levels you could or could not go to, the general Ellerslie fking around with tickets and, bizarrely, dressing up for members and you are sat next to some bloke in jandals. Been a shit show there for some time. -
Oh hey Pure steady on mate Merlin 'convincingly' beaten, I dont think so! I agree with CharlieE who posted in the other thread Merlin was 'huge' look at the run he had, where he came from 3 wide, to only just go down short of the post (gunned down by a horse who had done nothin in the runnin, power to them) mighty Merlin worked his ass off, was entitled to feel the pinch; swap those 2 runs around and Merlin blasts home 🤣 Cheers Iraklis
