Well when you think of the numbers that are sold out of trials and early race performance , it would still be in the hundreds per year , so suppose we could keep 30/40 of those horses here , we would lose some to normal attrition , but if we could do that year on year on year after 5 years we could have 150+ horses that have proven they can gallop and could progress to better class racing .
We won't be able to stop the high hundreds of thousands and million dollar sales , I'm talking those that could be between 100k and 250k .
Even with those numbers our racing is better .
I haven't got all the answers but get enough people thinking about a solve and some smart ideas will come from it .
Doing nothing like we are and things stay the same .
First thing to understand PS is that Allstars, as we knew them are finished, done, kaput ! While the current team certainly have some ability in the area of horsemanship, the golden days of Mark & Natalie are now assigned to history and I'd bet we won't see performances like they produced for a looooonngg time, if ever.
I think we just have to accept that we will inevitably lose certain horses. Nothing you can do about it. We just have to retain the solid professional types who go around and are competitive most weeks.
I don't know whether real class actually beat much so good luck on the owners for getting a good price for it.
I would like to commend the O'Sullivans ( I include Paul ),Mr Scott and the owners for the handling and patience with this mare ..they devised a plan and it paid off big time ..Other trainers may have over raced and burnt her out (e.g. Mr Rogerson )...I wish you all the best and hope that she repays your dedication with many more class performances.
I would caution you...you may not realize who you are cursing...you made a comment talking from your pocket I assume and it was replied to...If you dont like the comments dont post such shyte...cheers.
It is very hard to govern , my thinking is more along finding ways to incentivize people to race their horses here .
No easy answers but it is not impossible either , just takes a will .
Sorry for pointing out a bad luck story in our game of a talented young horse . Fuckn both of you are trolling peace’s of work . I read how you carry on in most of these topics . Wouldn’t be happy what ever any one said
Sorry for confusing you HOKES ,no not on the Turps just wanted to put Paks in the picture but he probably already was, ,as the only people that register with that post were those who follow Downtrou,(Paks being one ) which of course doesnt include you after you missed it in four when Hercock dragged it back cert beat . and today when you thought Black Betty could beat it , lily unfortunately isnt the right rider either but still ran a game second staying nearer the rail after drawing wide...but hey at least she put it in the race...take the 3s for a place all day....you are going ok hope you are making plenty😀 .
And it is those horses that frank the NZ form sufficiently to retain the Group status of the races we have managed to. Killing that export business with a levy like that would damage the breeding industry and reduce the foal crop further. Many of our best horses are exported as yearlings. Would you put a levy on those as well?
