    • What a great insight into a committed club on Unhinged this morning…. Drivers….Trainers…. Committee people…. Working hard for no pay to make the day a success…. We don’t have these type of committees and clubs in NSW…. Good luck to a hard working club today…. Any tips…..
    • Out of curiosity because I don't really follow BGP , have they ever given a good return to investors ?, or is purely being a part of big bets and return is irrelevant .
    • Yes agree Matt is very good . One of the best commentators I reckon we have seen . He would pick up a lot of good info from his GF Sheree T no doubt
    • It's the only way they seem to have of keeping that track from becoming slippery. Aeration and water.
    • VRC in MLB run a $10 Punters Club at their Saturday meetings and have been for some years now Target Market is “the newbies” to get them involved with an interest in 5 or 6 races. Works a treat with many newbies returning. Anything to get them back is worth a shot, and from the VRC annual report their PC is an investment goldmine for getting the newly initiated back BGP is a great tool and is to be applauded
    • Imagine Grey Way trying to get a start under race conditions these days, probably never start.
    • I emailed TAB yesterday with a heap of examples of mistakes. Not so much mistakes but absolute garbage. Particularly under the "Last Start" tab. It was just rubbish with some just having no information, some stating last starts in 2021 or 2020 when they raced last week, 147 etc days since last raced when they raced a week or 2 ago, and so on. The AI crap is that bad and has got worse, people just give up and accept as crap. It's simply not good enough. Does that Entain NZ boss even know what day it is ??? .. they are too busy trying to appease the big owners and trainers they have no idea what is going on where it really matters
    • The only one listening too would be Matt Cross - helps out at Woodend in his spare time - partner a driver. He has his finger on the pulse of what's horses are likely to do well - and he doesn't just throw out the first 4 favourites like the whale would. He's got energy and enthusiasm and doesn't come across like a limp sardine
    • Like this….how petty can you get…..? https://edition.cnn.com/2025/01/25/politics/trump-retribution-first-week/index.html?iid=cnn_buildContentRecirc_end_recirc
    • That should have been women's sports.
    • Why be so negative, surely they should be encouraged look how many people they bought in to the fun and I know most had a bloody good night, even if they did not win, a small investment for a chance to win big hell thats worth a few bucks, but overall I am sure some of them have been hooked by the thrill of the experience, shame some on here cant recognise the benefits of getting newbies involved.Good on BGP I say.
    • Richie, Kloppite and Secret Squirrel with La Dorada in the KM 2yo. Mr Gee, Zakhu, Kloppite (the KM double) and Canterbury Man with Damask Rose in the KM 3yo. After four events (races) Kloppite leads the way with 3 correct picks. 9 of 17 with Jannik Sinner in tonight's Australian Open final.  Nobody on Zverev.
    • WEF are now pushing IA, Intelligent Age, who would have guessed that would be next cab off there "Program" to the masses?   As far as ChatGPT is concerned, think back to the 1980's and selling off of our Telecommunications sector, Plessy who were based in Henderson, West Auckland and "GPT" ( yes there was GPT and now we have ChatGPT) who were based in Christchurch supplied and sold Toshiba and other electronic communications equipment. We out of interest looked up "GPT" in Papers Past NZ archives and history is simply repeating itself with Slum-bers as in more Disposable JUNK made and pushed by Salesforce and WEF partners creating an increasing Number of Slums because that's what they ultimately are creating with the amount of "Disposable communications devices " becoming obsolete far more often than telephones that actually worked and lasted years, as they are thrown in the rubbish as fast as they now produce the ones pushed into our lives today. We feel sorry for children growing up today with all that trash in schools and lives. It's sadly "insidious grooming" and a failure to ensure protection of children.
    • WEF need to be disbanded as it's full of failures. You do know Schwab's wife's family history, don't you? If not look up "Stoll" in PPNZ and learn who controls the "Mis" Information feed to the masses and the purse strings and his family's connections as Minister of War/ War Minister ( that's both in Newspapers and under Books looking up his family surname) It started with Town Hall meetings and Theatre and then the Talkies and Television and now we have them down our throats in our every move with there Propaganda. Now about those Submarine contracts, note the spin on those and who is really behind having them and making money just like at Hog Island - guess whose name is all over the place there?  Gates and Schwab families were linked in the Haymarket Wheat Price hiking back in the late 1800's/ Early 1900's. His relations are everywhere and his father Eugen is mentioned in Education documents from recall in Parliamentary papers section.   Be mindful the current one in charge also has links to Munitions with a Brand of Gun named after their family. Others named in articles about WEF this week are also worthwhile of looking up their families surnames in PPNZ. One at least is tied back to Cynaide in the 1800's, another's family was linked to Court cases of interest.   Whilst WEF may be relatively newly known to the average NZ person, we grew up with knowledge of is leader back in the 1970's and how it wouldn't end well for Society under his thumb.   For those who may not know, Musk's natural father's side was involved in an attempt to fly from New York to Paris and the plane ran out of fuel and landed in the Indian Ocean and they were rescued by a Dutch Sailing vessel crew
    • Crikey, if that happens, how will it impact on advances in the Racing sector?
    • We stand to be corrected but KARAKA have sponsored the 2 year old race as far back as 2008 so this Race Meeting is not about an Entain initiative. One of the great Vela sisters may recall a conversation we had together with the late great Norm Holland about attracting more people to the races and sales by having a combined promotion back in era of 2002/2003 at Ellerslie Races.   We are thankful to those who helped with this however it would be beneficial to also factor into account those who have an interest in the wider Racing sector industry and market to them as well as they are the future generations of racing, and most definitely not to overlook those over and above the 40 year old age bracket who seem to be forgotten who are not necessarily "betting types" but enjoy animals and social occasions.   Not everyone has pocket loads of cash to purchase expensive horses and there's always just as great horses come out of what was called the Festival Sale and that is who are the backbone of Racing in NZ.   It's most unfortunate that the Railway has shifted to this weekend as most people used to look forward to a day at the races via a Train, the trains as we know no longer operate in Auckland over the Christmas/ New Year period when people have time on their hands to go to the races and carparking at Ellerslie is not worth the effort. We recall the days well when they had Railway trains to Ellerslie and the thrill leading up to meeting up with friends and others in amongst the crowds. The NZ Government and selling off our Silver has sadly puckerooed this country's stability
    • Utterly unsurprising.  Hope they all had a good time.
    • The highest Quinella pool in NZ racing today Wanganui, Riccarton and Ellerslie on supertab in Oz I presume NZ is combined into it Was $29k. So at a guess it might have tripled at the most for the 3 feature races so being very generous $100k each. So Work that out how  insignificant NZ/AUST are in this pool ...fair call ???
