Take her out of the equation and the sales figures are pretty ordinary. One more day of Book #1 then Book#2 vendors will be clenching their butt cheeks I reckon.
Gulfstream Park, under threat of closure, still staged the Pegasus Invitational races on Saturday evening (local).
The turf race saw 8/1 shot SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS score his biggest success beating INTEGRATION, ridden by Frankie Dettori, who went three places better than last year. A miserable spell for Godolphin continued with NATIONS PRIDE trailing home ninth.
2023 Whitney and Breeders Cup Classic winner WHITE ABARRIO returned to form with a vengeance with a six and a half length romp in the Dirt race. He was a well beaten favourite in last year’s Saudi Cup but with the latter race moved a month later he could be heading back to Riyadh but we’ll see.
FRANKEL’s full brother NOBLE MISSION was a very good horse ending with a rating of 123. 20 lbs behind his sibling but still well into Group 1 territory and he won the Champion Stakes at Ascot on his final race in 2014.
He’s also been a decent stallion - the one you would know of his was SPANISH MISSION who was third in the 2021 Melbourne Cup behind a certain VERRY ELLEGGANT.
But only if they're winning and winning regularly. I believe we'll now see a paradigm shift - who knows to what degree - but bubbles invariably burst sooner or later.
A tongue twister of a call... He did exceptionally well ...

Maybe this year.? He has a home Interdominion in July first.
But with the New VELOCITY slot race for 3 year olds in Cup week at Addington , Grant might be tempted with 'FATE AWAITS' who won the 1/2 Million$ 2 yearold slot race last Winter in an Incredible 1.50 mile at Albion , so might be on the Derby trail this year as a 3 year old . and have a go at the VELOCITY slot. (all going well)
Leap To Fame could just 'tag-along' for the Cup. ? 😆 (he's way better than older brother Swayzee)
7? I backed the winner and watched it...what did he get wrong?
At times, after the big days (KM) he does sound tired on the midweek or Monday meetings.
I would be too, mind....
With the fixed costs for running a meeting, it is ridiculous to have a 5 race, 32 horse meeting, this gives an average of 6.4 starters per race, compared to the 8.5 for Friday's 6 races, which still had two fields less than 8.
I think it was push back from the galloping fraternity at Tauranga that contributed to the demise there. However, I thought there were no such problems at the Te Awamutu course (120 horses at last meeting there in 2019)
