With so many well educated (know all's) on this site how is it possible nobody has posted anything about the imminent sale of Avondale ??, you must have all been sleeping . February 23, 2025 It’s alleged that New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) has entered into backroom negotiations with Fletcher Living to sell off Avondale Racecourse, where the markets are held each Sunday. April 14, 2024 The Avondale Jockey Club has submitted to Auckland Council to see Avondale Racecourse rezoned for housing. Legislation brought in by Racing Minister Winston Peters in 2020 has given powers to NZTR to transfer property ownership of any club grounds it deems “surplus”. Locals have labelled it “a land grab”. Now this is great and no doubt the northerners will be holding their hands out for another stakes boost just look at what's available on March 8 at Ellerslie THE NZB KIWI Starting limit: 14, Ballots: 4 3YO SW+P 1500m - $3,500,000 Open /Close 2 TRACKSIDE NZ DERBY Starting limit: 18, Ballots: 6 3YO SW 2400m - $1,250,000 Open /Close Race Name Conditions & Distance 3 BONECRUSHER NEW ZEALAND STAKES WFA 2000m - $1,000,000 Nominations: 04 Mar 2025 12:00PM. I went to Ellerslie last Saturday just to have a look , brilliant , the track looked absolutely fantastic and the races I went to see were great to watch , 10 out of 10 for everything . Swapping the hill for the new track was an inspired move and the stakes on offer were superb , so this is the way to make racing relevant again , strong stakes , class facility's and good horses , Bring on next Saturday week . -

Super Don winning again . US President Donald Trump confirmed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit the White House to sign a major minerals deal but refused to guarantee Ukraine’s security. Ahead of Zelensky’s meeting with Trump set for Friday, the US president said: ‘I’m not going to make security guarantees beyond – very much. We’re going to have Europe do that.’ The deal will see Ukraine hand over billions of its mineral wealth and other resources to the US . Now there is much more to this , Ukraine is a very corrupt country that's why only 40% of voters voted at the last election but (1) this deal nails corruption , a joint USA Ukraine company will handle all of the finances and much of the money will go to rebuilding Ukraine (2) When the USA arrives to extract the minerals they will be in reality a safety guard , if Putin wants Ukraine he will have to attack USA citizens so the USAs mining company is effectively a barrier which Putin will struggle with , this all seems like a win for Trump, lets see what happens . Election result ,Quote . Zelenskiy will take charge of a country facing numerous challenges, including a struggling economy and an ongoing war against Russia-backed separatist forces in the east that has claimed more than 13,000 lives. Voting on Sunday took place across the country, from the Carpathian mountains in the west to the war-torn Donbass region in the east, where soldiers on the frontline had an opportunity to cast their ballots. “My nephew has been on the frontline in Donbass; what kind of country would put a clown in charge of its armed forces during a war?” asked Tetiana Hrytsenko, 61, who cast her ballot for Poroshenko on Sunday morning in Kyiv. Zelenskiy is best known for his role in the long-running Ukrainian television series Servant of the People, where he played a teacher unexpectedly elected to the presidency after an angry rant about corruption is posted online by his students. -

When I looked at the Raceday Performance figures at the start of the month, I had a WTF moment when I noticed that Kapiti Coast was the best performing club with a GBR/Funding figure of 256%, well above even Methven and of course ATC who are at 50.5%, it was of course not true. HRNZ publish misleading figures when they don't have the Funding figures included, which omits the Stakes and the meeting costs for a number of meetings at the end of the month, in this case there were 17 meetings affected. Kapiti had 3 meetings, but only the first one had all the information, the following 2 meetings had their Stakes and GBR figures, but they were only being compared with the funding for the first meeting. The first race day's funding was $18909, + Stake's of $49560 = total Funding of $68469, anyway, if you use the same raceday funding for the other meetings you end up with GBR/Funding of 60% for the 3 meetings, still actually better than Auckland. All the clubs that raced then will also have their Club Breakdown figures distorted, and the NZ Group Breakdown will not be accurate, the Stakes that have not been added to the Funding cost amount to $2.25m and the raceday funding approximately $457,000. The Nationwide cumulative Funding total at the 4th February was $26,841,323, I believe it should have been $2,715,000 higher, which would make the historically low GBR/Funding figure of 80.7% an even lower 73%.

Does it matter if the ENTAIN company overall is making a substantial profit and NZ isn't? However with regard to NZ how do you know that NZ isn't making a profit? ENTAIN do make a profit out of sports betting - maybe that offsets any losses incurred in other NZ markets. But you don't know either because just like the rest of us you have no insight into the New Zealand operation. -

Race 9 tonight at Addington no 7 Arma Hunter over 1980 mtrs Opened at 7.50 now 3.50 and surely only by coincidence its stablemate who drew 4 has been scratched. A late scratching of the 1 horse now sees it draw 5.

Yes we are talking about NZ here although you and Doug and Leggy will try to dispute that as well based on your modus operandi
