But - as said by cleverer folk than moi - turnover isn't the metric, it's revenue that matters. How is that looking and how will it be looking in another 3.5 years when the largesse is reined in and NZTAB has to share 50/50 with Entain? -
Words , words and more words . If turnovers were that great they would be spruiking them everywhere to prove it . It's all good talking about the so called positives even if they are correct , but to just ignore other major issues we have thinking money is going to solve everything is asking for a right dicking eventually .

Citizen Bull earned 20 additional qualifying points for the Kentucky Derby to give him 60 in all. That should be more than enough points to make the 20-horse cutline for the Derby.View the full article -

Came across this article on Racing .com Rewind 12 months and there was an air of excitement about New Zealand racing. The Karaka meeting came on the back of a mega announcement which saw its feature calendar shaken up with prizemoney changes and the creation of the Southern Hemisphere's richest three-year-old race: The Kiwi. Fast forward to 2025 and that excitement has been justified, with New Zealand Racing in a strong position on and off the track. Is it? "I think this time last year the industry was coming to grips with whether (the changes) were sustainable and something that would work. This year it's a lot better because there's a lot more confidence that it is," Entain New Zealand's managing director Cameron Rodger said. "The changes we have made around the summer calendar are driving increases in turnover which will fund them for years to come. Really "It's an industry that's just as excited as before but ready to get on with it, if that makes sense." The addition of the World Pool also added an international flavour to Saturday's Karaka Millions meeting. "It's big for punters, right?" Rodger said. "But the bigger part for us is the exposure it brings to New Zealand Racing. To get this meeting and Champions Day (in the World Pool) … it's a real 'we've-arrived' moment for New Zealand racing." Rodger said New Zealand is 'bucking the global trends' when it comes to wagering turnover. "It's helped a lot by the Entain partnership and improving the wagering offering. A lot is to do with the changes to the summer calendar, for example," he said. against the global standards of single-digit decline and double-digit decline in some jurisdictions. "We are thrilled with how it's been going in a tough economy." For me Cameron knows how to spruk an interview. Mind you Entain is run out of Oz not here from what i was told

Trump has repeatedly said “tariff” is among his favorite words and sees import duties as a way to finance the extension of his first-term tax cuts that are due to expire in 2026. And there you have it financing TAX CUTS the voters will love him . -
And his ride on The Diamond One in the White Robe about ten years ago. My favourite race ever.

Yes the firmer ground upset a few, suited Sefton who had raced well in the NI. Caledonie disappointing again, needs it wetter to find form. Pivotal Ten was impressive as you say, will be going for the Guineas triple crown in a couple of weeks. Airpark Hustler got too far back and ran on well for 4th at only his second start.

A very good jockey, and if he can over come weight challenges will be among our best.

It would have been interesting had Republican Party not had a slightly interrupted run into the straight. When Anthony Butt dived to the passing lane upon straightening l thought for a second Carter Dalgety was going to head out wider, just for half a stride, then realised there was still a gap on the inside of Tact Mcleod. But to come from three-back in that field - even though he hadn't spent a penny - and get as close as he did was a great run. The top four all went huge, and there were some good late runs from the beaten brigade too. It'll be a good form race over the next few weekends l imagine.

Nope. Plan is for her to stay down there. Listed ILT Ascot Park Hotel Southland Guineas (1400m), run at Ascot Park on February 15. next. https://loveracing.nz/News/48228/PivotalTensensationalinGoreGuineasromp.aspx -
Decent ground at Gore as it turned out. CHUPALLA did a passable imitation of ARAZI’s Breeders Cup Juvenile run slicing through the field and travelling strongly but found little in the straight albeit keeping on well for second. This was her first run on decent ground and showed a big form improvement. BONSAI BOB flew home for fourth - he hadn’t shown much but it was an eye catching finish. TIKKI continued her upward trajectory in the third and is another to follow over 1209m on decent turf. SEFTON was the clear winner of the R65 over 2000m. He possibly found Riccarton company too warm last time but back among the country horses he was very good. PIVOTAL TEN was an impressive winner of the Gore Guineas doing it from the front and clearing way from some unexposed types. This was her second Listed win having won at Wingatui on Boxing Day. The dam was an unraced mare trained in Britain by William Jarvis and was herself by Pivotal so you’d think she would prefer slow ground but she looked really good on today’s decent ground. Not sure where they will go with her but it will have to be to a metropolitan track.

I think he is at about near 20 Group 1's now. those 2 NZ Cups (and last night too) with Swayzee were all great drives to beat the NZ best going round. The race after the Hunter Cup he (Cam Hart) knocked off Luke McCarthy , who was our previous best with 80 odd group 1's to his name , and the Current Interdominion winner too ,with Don Hugo . Cam drove a great race on New Zealand mare Aardies Express to beat the favourite of Lukes in the Ladyship Cup. Chris Alford was our best before that , and still goes round, but is a bit like the fantastic Tony Herlihy in the senior realm , and twilight of their careers. not as many wins now. Love Carter Dalgety though !! he was choc full of confidence before the Hunter Cup in the interview, and nearly pulled it off too 🏆. a great young driver doing well. -
Suspect the dent in the vote would have been equal to that of the Labour Party when they had their youth camp scandal. Minimal. The public are generally smart enough to conclude the link between the bad eggs and the current MPs, party, policies, leaders, staffers etc isnt there. Heck we dont even hold the CURRENT MPs accountable. Take the actions of Golriz, Julie AG and Darleen and map them against the stable Green vote over the last 12 months. People dont care. Anyone trying to draw a link between historical MP indiscretions and the party today are solely trying to score political points.

No mention of the actions Seymour took when the complaint was made to him. Instead of saying "go to the Police" he recommended a lawyer. Was that because he thought maybe he could shut it down without the press knowing? Also, nothing from the many right wingers on these forums. If this was a left-wing politician, then they would be on a feeding frenzy with you Triple would be leading the charge.
