No , can't be , bullshit , some bloke who trains in Australia was super complimentary and said that things were fantastic and being run by people who knew what they were doing and that things were looking great long term . What would you or anybody else who has been involved in the NZ industry for the last , oh I don't know , say 20 years or so , know about what's going on here . Bloody perennial wingers (whingers) the lot of us . Maybe that Aus based trainer might just want stakes to stay the way they are so they can send their lesser horses over top get some easier black type and money . I might get excited when a Winx type horse comes here instead of the Championships .

Correct and a wee bird told me they are 30 mil behind budget already. Admirable that they are so positive And us mere mortals were of the opinion that it was NZTR running programming

Yes, and if there was something worth hyping about, that would be it but nary a mention which is a serious worry. -

And his ride on The Diamond One in the White Robe about ten years ago. My favourite race ever. I totally agree with you. Just thinking about that race still gives me goosebumps -
Well done Colin W, you certainly have a good one. You must be really pleased with the stakes available at the moment. Wish I was getting a bigger share of them. Liz

Cranbourne Cup next Saturday. I think Leap to Fame will start in that race and should win. Swayzee heading home before his next bonus race at Albany. -

I agree. Swayzee and Leap to Fame far superior to the rest of the field and they were the only horses to work in the race. I thought C Dalgety should have tried to led then he would have had the trail behind Swayzee who always heads to the front. I think Republican Party could have got second or deadheat for second. Swayzee is phenomenal in front and he did two 27 quarters down the back, Leap to Fame was parked on that pace. Most horses with that run would have choked 400m from home, he kept trucking. Swayzee was not going to get beaten and I thought Hart had things under control. The Aussie trotters were amazing. The Locomotive was strong and the speed that Watts Up Partytime and Keayang Chucky showed in the last 100m, both flew home and left old Oscar in the jet stream. I would love to see Keayang Chucky at Addington, the track would suit him, left for the last run he would be dangerous. -

Trump can't loose on this one if things get really rough he has these stats to give him confidence , this will cost Canada much more than the USA .In 2023, the United States trade balance for goods and services with Canada was a deficit of -$41 bn USD. Crazy really when all the Canadians have to do is control their boarder and the problems will be resolved .(maybe) -
So True Ned , Swayzee and Leap to Fame are just too good for our horses . I would have loved to have seen DSD on the leaders back just to see how it would have panned out . He had no show from the start but finished really well in a fast time

Well said Ripples and to the perennial wingers why don't you try and view the interview with Chris Waller at the sales he was super complementary at the way NZ racing was being steered , long term planning by people who know what they are doing , he thought it was fantastic How's the Ellerslie track performing BRILLIANTLY but have we seen any of the wingers who bagged the track last season acknowledging they were wrong and this will keep getting better and will develop, if not already there into the best track NZ has ever seen ,the horses seem to glide over it , it's the big high profile meetings that build an industry , racing will keep improving because of the current management are thinking big . Ellerslie swapped the hill for a top class track what a great move -

Thought it was a terrific race as was the whole nights racing but am a bit surprised with some of the back slapping regarding the kiwi horses. The 2 in the cup got great draws and had to do next to nothing during the running but were well beaten by the worst draws with a lot done during the running. I would almost cut off an arm to have a horse run a place in such a great race so it’s no mean feat but I don’t think I have seen such a wide gap between the aussies and nz’s top paces and trotters

Formats for Weeks 1-6: Week 1 - Pairs format Week 2 - Knockout format Week 3 - Trifecta format Week 4 - LGL format Week 5 - Pairs format Week 6 - Knockout format All of the play-off rounds will use the same format - either the Pairs format or the Knockout format. To be decided by a poll closer to the time. For seeding purposes points ties after 6 rounds will be decided in same way as recent comps - by dropping lowest scoring week, then if need be second lowest scoring week, etc... In the play-offs, in the unlikely event of a tied score the tie will be split using seedings.
