I think Don't Stop Dreaming is the best staying horse in NZ. His NZ Cup and Hunter Cup runs first class. He's a great horse that usually would have won a big race by now but he has super stayers, Leap to Fame and Swayzee, ahead of him. Both are two lengths better than DSD.
The Falcon is a versatile horse, sprint or stay. Remember he won that big Country Cup race at Addington a few years back with Gerard O'Reilly driving. He bolted in. I think Australian racing suits him.
I think it helped that he was driven more. patiently. Gath bided her time before making a run around them. He had to sit parked and it was a tough run, but realistically he was running for second. Leap to Fame bolted in.
Sending Harlech down south a masterstroke, almost as good as the aussie raiders coming over. Savaglee went very well I thought, was surprised to see him in the field.
Why . Where has he been ? 😉😅
That horse is a real powerhouse , and has gone so close to being the champ of NZ , but got a Great list of seconds instead.
2nd to Merlin in the NZ Derby but did win the 3 yearold Sires stakes as a 3 year old, 2nd to Merlin in the Race by Grins Million. , 2nd last years Hunter Cup to Leap To Fame,
and a great 2nd to Swayzee in the NZ Cup a couple of months ago too, after heading him off momentarily in the home straight. 2nd again last night Cranbourne.
Maybe he can out-stay them in the $million Miracle Mile soon . ? a good 5th in it last year, and a few of Grimsons that were in it last year are burnt / flamed out now.
Grimson might try and get his own horse THE FALCON he purchased from NZ during Cup week (along with Bootsey) into the race. 4 wins from 5 at Menangle now after an easy win last night . Has the Falcon motor going like a V8 now. Bit of 'fine tuning'. 😋
