I think the issue with Woodville at this time of year is to do with irrigation. it would make sense to race there instead of Tauherenikau because its closer to the CD horse population
Yes, well. I don’t know how the process works - is it a tender or does each region take a number of fixtures slots?
I can certainly see why some think the South is hard done by - every fixture looks to have plenty of runners so why aren’t more fixtures programmed? Is there linkage with the harness racing calendar to avoid overlap?
I can understand every course wanting to race on summer weekends when the weather is good and the crowds turn out but as others have argued, the programme has to be supportable in terms of the horse population. The other option is to pay for southern runners to come up to the North Island with either appearance money or covering expenses.

4 wins and one for his good mate Harrison Orange too on the Mickey House Team at Manawatu. they are doing so well. 👍

COuld this be the best Group of four Juniors since AGH, Mark, Mango and David Butcher were competing as Juniors ?
You sure have 4 Top notch ones in the Junior ranks now with Wilson and Harrison catching up very quickly ,to GROUP 1 winners Carter Dalgety and Crystal Hackett.
Those 4 will be Winning buckets of races for years to come as many seniors phase out like Ricky ,CJ, Maurice, AGH and quite a few others.
Well they don't appear to try very hard. A close friend has attended Premier Meetings 3 times in the last 12 months only to get to the Train Station and find that the trains had been replaced with All Stops buses. So no assumptions. You either then take your chances with Uber or spend $90 plus on a cab.
If you live 10 minutes from Trentham I guess you can ball of chalk to the course.
Sunday meeting cancelled.
This just wouldn’t happen in the UK - I’ve known six race cards go ahead with a walkover, two matches, two three runner races and one race with four runners
I read yesterday that the Purdon team are leaving Rolleston and shifting back north mid year with a team of ~25 horses. This should boost numbers of horses to follow and has to be good news for most.
I actually have thank you very much, in fact I only live 10 minutes away from Trentham Racecourse itself, there are a lot of changes to Metlink trains in Wellington especially over the weekend but they try to keep them running on racedays.
