Although I am not a fan of his driving I am not sure that he is to blame primarily - the Telfer horses are just going terrible - the South Island branch going a little better but they are often badly gaited horses and break often. How Steve Stockman can keep spending huge amounts at the sales and in setting up the 2 stables for almost no return is mind boggling. Yes Montana spends heaps too but they are winning a lot of group 1s and yet they would still be showing a big loss at the end of each season.

You imagine? I think those two words cover the vast majority of what you post on here. It must be the highlight of your day having an argument with yourself in the mirror every morning.

You are just a waste of time..he has not ridden 54 for a long time and I think his success over the past couple of seasons has been outstanding...but of course you know all...sweet FA I would say....🤣 -

Pete dont waste your time arguing with a piece of wood...not worth it...As for Wiremu I believe there has been a parting of the ways for now.... -

As a grade 2 winner last year with earnings of $338,671 in four starts, Godolphin's homebred First Resort brings an imposing résumé into the $175,000 John Battaglia Memorial Stakes Feb. 22 at Turfway Park.View the full article -

Oaklawn Park canceled racing Feb. 15 following the fifth race after heavy rain fell at the Hot Springs, Ark., track and surrounding areas. Races 6-10 were left to be run on the program. View the full article -
Josh Dickie driving terrible since coming back from Aussie. He has had a few wins but has been beaten on many odds on favorites and has made a few really bad judgement calls in some of his races IMO

Since when have Trackside commentators been the oracle of truth? Most on here bag them! Opie may very well make a comeback but it will be extremely hard from here. I wish he would come back but I imagine with his experience his focus on trackwork riding is providing valuable feedback to the trainers. As for Wiremu Pinn why don't you give his agent Chris McNab a call and ask? -
You clearly missed the subject of his retirement being discussed on Trackside the week before last. The consensus was that he’ll be back but, of course, you know best. On the subject of Te Akau i noticed that Billy Pinn wasn’t on any of their runners yesterday. No doubt you will know the reason why with your myriad of contacts within the stable.

What a run by Better Knuckle Up . Checked turning for home and flashed home for 4th on a very quick run race . Watch out for him if he gets a draw next start

You only have to read the track work reports to see what he's been doing. I didn't say he rode at 54kg but if you can't get to that weight with the way the weight scale is your options are limited. Latterly he has really struggled to get 56kg which doesn't leave many options at all. -

The man has earned his rest if he does indeed stay retired. Training? Broadcasting? Breeding? Must be a ton of expertise stashed in that head of his. -

Good to see the know it all..knows it all again...🤣...I dont think he ever rode 54 for many years....but hey why let the truth get in the way of a good story...he was more akin to riding 57kg. -

He has been riding trackwork for Te Akau since raceday retirement. That's no different to riding an exhibition gallop. A big difference riding track work at 60kg and getting down to 54kg for racing. -
I wouldn't be putting any money on his retirement lasting long. He was on Damask Rose in the exhibition gallop yesterday.

“Not sure what she beat “….well Sesimbra 2 starts back was at ELLERSLIE, she got 4th and was 3.9 lengths behind the winner (Sought After) who is in the kiwi.

This week's winner (Houlahan moves to the top of the standings). Four more weeks of qualifying so plenty of opportunity to climb into the higher echelons. Plenty of opportunity to fold like a Warehouse deckchair too.....;)
