From MG on X:
“Here come the Southerners: exciting South Island filly Pivotal Ten gets a slot in the $3.5million NZB Kiwi at Ellerslie on March 8. Will be trained and ridden by Samantha Wynne in what is a lovely story. Races in the Selangor Turf Club slot. Expertly organised by @mike_kneebone”
I see that EVAPORATE is entered in the Group 1 Futurity on Saturday at Caulfield over 1400m. He's up against Mr Brightside and I Wish I Win. Not a bad dress rehearsal for a 3 yo race 2 weeks later at Ellerslie.
Awesome! Would love to see the structure of some of the deals, I know of two negotiations and both very different. I guess all about the horse and risk profile both parties want to take
Incredible time alright! Would be great to see her in. Hopefully a deal can be done. There will be a wide range of deals negotiated. Hopefully Cambridge Stud pick up Pivotal Ten? Maybe the Malaysians…. Or has Ozzie snapped a share in her?
HRNZ, and some journalists, continue to push the idea that Harness Racing is improving, and indeed doing well, but their own figures show the real situation;
Comparing the Q1 & Q2 performance between the 24/25 season and the 23/24 season GBR to Stakes
Q1 this season Stakes $9.280m GBR $8.431m GBR/Stakes 90.9%
Last season $7.772m $7.986m 103.4%
Q2 this season $16.217m $12.974m 80.0% This is where we sit after 6 months, end January 2025
Last season $12.905m $12.887m 99.9%
I used GBR/Stakes because there are 17 meetings that do not have their funding figures listed yet, so the GBR/Funding will not be accurate.
I see that the racists are still alive and well on this forum. Triple I hope one or more of your grandkids meets and partners a Māori. Let's also hope it does not kill you
My bad. I always think the Alexanders train in Hawkes Bay for some reason; maybe it's the similarity with the Guy Lowry colours. Lets use her as an example of Northern horses who aren't afraid of travelling to the CD instead 😉.
Among a raft of changes to the French calendar ratified by the European Pattern Committee, a clear determination from French racing's rulers to return the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1) to global pre-eminence shines through.View the full article
I am hearing there is some big news to do with Pivotal Ten getting a slot to run...hope it is true she will add some huge interest to the race having won last start virtually untested in a very fast time. Stay tuned.
