Well that was a slow lot of horses racing last night ( country assessed runners) and those 'Good' drivers had them all running career record race-times 😅🤣. Running the 10 races (except the 2.00 trot) in times of between 1.53 to 1.56. . Tonight they are on the better Metro class city-class horses so can expect about 1.50 to 1.53 times to be run. They are full gas these boys !!! Dexter Dunn won 2 races for New Zealand on night 1. ( as did Gary Hall Jnr WA, and Angus Garrard for QLD ) so are the 3 leaders going into night 2 today. Tonight I expect Pete McMullen , Mr Goop the Swedish iceman, Gary Hall JNR and Dexter to win 2 races each 🙄. so DEXTER DUNN (NZ) might be our Ultimate Driver Champion at the end of this evening ? he deserves it , as has already conquered 2 countries and can Add Oz to the list if successful. -
I'm not taking sides here (as there as always two or more) but normal course on a Saturday morning is that whoever is racing that day in the country, someone from the club (secretary, course manager etc) comes on and questions are asked about the day, the track etc. No one would come on from the Otaki club. Would like to hear the club response.

Typical petulant behaviour from Mick. He could get that information on line.

Unlikely because Otaki agreed to move the race.

That may be correct, but does seem harsh if you win a $1.5m race and get no penalty, meanwhile some poor bugger down south wins a $25,000 race and probably goes up 5 points. -

I bet you will be on Zoom Party next time PS after rocketing home . Pete just had no luck in some of his drives

I missed the start of what Mick Guerin was saying but he will be doing no form or betting at Otaki today. Reason (and I think I have this right??) no one from the club would come on The First call this morning to give track update etc etc. I'm trying to connect some dots here that may in fact not exist but perhaps something to do with the fact that Otaki-Māori Classic is running at Ellerslie.
