I agree but the problem is there are a few guaranteed spots in the Chariots so only a few spare spots available. The Janitor seems to be overlooked often though, I'm not sure why. He has excellent form, apart from a few poor runs at Melton, which is a terrible track in my opinion. He's a chance if he starts. -
David wears High Vis on Community Patrol...he doesn't use a drone, or cleaver, to the best of our knowledge - I'll stand on his feet if he dare ...

Who trains the current Stipes? From whose book? How many have we coming through the Ranks to continue on with our Racing Sector? How do we get these jobs? What is the Executive of Racing doing to ensure younger ones are receiving appropriate education at schools/ universities etc in our ever declining standards of the education system?

California Burrito, ridden by apprentice Irving Moncada, introduced himself to the Kentucky Derby (G1) trail Feb. 22 with a hard-fought win in the $173,500 John Battaglia Memorial Stakes at Turfway Park.View the full article -
We have it on good authority that Ellerslie usually irrigate the track between 6am to 8 am and sometimes 8.15am in the mornings. Sorry we can't confirm what time they did it this week as our watch-person was unavailable. If you want that information confirmed, ask ATR to disclose it as it should be so Trainers can decide for themselves how much water has been sprayed around. Naturally because of the method/ device they use wind can also be a factor with where the water lands - It's a bit like people watering there gardens who aim it over the footpath...

Pure mate, we are talkin Alex Park 🤣 corse the commentator thinks he's at the circus.... Cheers Iraklis

As usual, two tries to the southerners through the direct result of the (legendary) aimless mid field kicking of Barrett. Did a hell of a lot around the field only to undo all this by the gifted 14 points. You really would have thought the decades he's been playing at the top level he would have learned by now.

Not long back was a grass track northern meeting every week from around Christmas through to February. No problem.

The second dam is also the second dam of the horse that won that BC Classic. And she's a half sister to Zenno Rob Roy, who shuttled to NZ in 2006 before being prevented from returning by the EI outbreak in NSW in 2017 that was blamed on Japanese horses in quarantine there (not Zenno Rob Roy nor Jungle Pocket, who both shuttled to NZ in 2006; they were to be brought in via Melbourne rather than Sydney). That's another reason I love to see the success Rich Hill are having; they were early to recognise the quality of the Japanese thoroughbred and its suitability for our conditions, and took a gamble on it. There were some returns with Jungle Pocket (he sired an Oaks winner and a couple of other stakeswinners from four crops) and Zenno Rob Roy (Zennista was 2nd in an Oaks and won half a dozen stakes races to Gr. 3 level from his only crop), and they're having joy now with Satono Aladdin. -
Cool HD. we have share in another HY filly from the same yard trials soon. Keep an eye out

Up in trip, fifth run first prep, not the grand final. Not a bet. You don't want to be making your move leaving the front straight at Ellerslie (uphill and around a bend). You could argue for a move between the 1700 (or more realistically the 1500) and the 1000, but Willydoit specifically had started to settle better from the 1700 to the 1100. From the 1100 when he was three wide and pulling you could argue he should've been let slide, but at that point you're coming to the 1000 where they start quickening and are approaching the bend, which again is a place you don't particularly want to be making your move. Add in the things I mentioned above and the ride makes sense. If you wanted to be super nitpicky, at the 500 Masa lets Hinekaha go ahead of him and then tries to make a run outside her. Either don't wait for her and make your run around her earlier, or let her go and then cut underneath her to save ground into the straight and follow a similar line to Oceana Dream. But that's a split second decision towards the end of the race, so I'm never gonna crucify a jockey for getting that wrong. -
I would agree with Oscar . It may not have been the strongest of fields but the way he won was impressive . Any horse who works that hard and keeps the pedal down until the finish is special , remembering as well that's not really his go , he is better doing nothing early and getting a sit

I can't believe they balloted your namesake " The Janitor " His run was enormous coming from where he did . I reckon he should have been put ahead of " We Walk by Faith on both their runs . I really hope you make the field you are the smokie

The winner was third in the Breeders Cup Classic. Japan won four of the six thoroughbred races - there can be no doubt they are the dominant force in world racing.

That is also BS know it all, they used to slice the track after racing so it never got hard, that from what I see never happens these days....that was how they broke the surface up...how many tracks have you managed???? Why that does not happen these days unless there is an issue when its too late god only knows...suits in offices comes to mind...And another thing how can track managers monitor the tracks if 95% dont even live on the track anymore???? -
My impression is that Sports betting has been increasing with the increased number of options available, plus significant advertising, but have not seen any figures since the demise of the old TAB. In the 23/24 Harness season, HRNZ received $27.911m from Imported & Sports Profit, compared to the previous years $18.196m without Entain, this is 25% higher than the profit distribution received from Domestic racing, so Sport is the largest contributor to Harness Racings revenue. Because all the money is coming from the Entain guarantee, it complicates analysis.
