New Zealand has been dumped all over by inferior quality people with no clues about Quality of Life and why we were once a beautiful country. The same people who have ruined it have horrible quality of life in there own so why add to "Climatic Change" and screw over New Zealand? We often see certain nationalities covered head to toe complaining about the New Zealand sunshine, err hello, go back to the country one came from instead of complaining about our country and do one's homework before coming here. We don't need more people or houses @Maximus. There's vast numbers of brand new ones sitting empty no one wants for a number of reasons including the fact they are not built to NZ legislation, No exterior back doors, black kitchens, jammed right next cto neighbors walls, the wrong trees planted where they chopped mature trees and leaving them to die so there's effectively no trees replacing them in accordance with Consent compliance. Cameras all over them no one any longer knows who is watching who or where, driveways so narrow that one can't drive or turn a reasonable sized vehicle. It's overdue that Town Planners sat down and really thought about a lot of things they haven't

New Zealanders have screwed themselves by building out instead of up. Breaks Maxi's heart driving past Karaka and Puke and Bombay and seeing the most producitve land in the country being used for suburban dwellings.

And what about the wider Community who used to frequent it for School sports, Dog walks, cross country practice , Garden/ Flower Shows, Shakespeare Theatre and all those wonderful Steeplechase and Jumps races that local schools also partook in fun Community days at the races? All gone. Sad. There's more to life than building Retirement Complexes and Apartment blocks that should not ever be built on Public Parks and Recreation areas that we in Auckland desperately need to retain or there'll be none left. Think about why Wise Town Planners and Domains Board members set aside such land in the first place. Auckland and New Zealand has been screwed over by imbeciles.

Do you have the link to this please? The old 3 Guys Supermarket in Avondale is still derelict and used as a carpark for Avondale Sunday Markets. There's a serious recession in New Zealand and a glut of hideous Shanty Shacks built. Note how all the little Old Borough Council townships have become real eyesores in Auckland with Housing NZ bumper to bumper apartments that are jammed in. There's absolutely no need for anymore Retirement Complexes or Apartments taking over places that were expressly set aside in perpetuity as Domains, Reserves, Golf Courses, Racecourses, Bowling Clubs or Croquet clubs etc to be dumped with ugly housing we don't need. Quality of life over Quantity of poor quality people coming to NZ thanks. Well done the idiot Economists etc.

Is good stuff if we get a few more of these happening 😁. Not quite sure 'maidens' are the horse to plunge on though ? 😅 Top Galloping stables do it all the time. Especially Gai Waterhouse with her Sydney horses as Hubby a big honcho in the Bookmaker circles. They're always after a quid /plunge. and galloping trainers are also 'Setting' their horses for certain races , rather than going round and round like Standardbreds everywhere , just trying to pay their way. Good to see someone still trying to set a horse for a plunge in the trotting circles.💰 They used to in Oz quite a bit but don't bother much these days. I think mainly because of betting restrictions from the Beting companies , and bookies have disappeared from on-course at the TROTS as well. -

What a flop! And what a poor start, most of the field not on the gate when he let them go. A shocker. -
Mavis Jones oh dear . I reckon Ben is terrified of getting suspended again . He could easily have pushed out Blair out in the straight and run second . He needs to get his confidence back

Queensland, we have a classy team heading to Eagle Farm. GOODLUCKTOME enters as the favourite, bringing strong form from his last start. UNTIL VALHALLA is looking to return to form despite a tricky draw. She’s been racing well and truly deserves a win for her connections.

With so many well educated (know all's) on this site how is it possible nobody has posted anything about the imminent sale of Avondale ??, you must have all been sleeping . February 23, 2025 It’s alleged that New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) has entered into backroom negotiations with Fletcher Living to sell off Avondale Racecourse, where the markets are held each Sunday. April 14, 2024 The Avondale Jockey Club has submitted to Auckland Council to see Avondale Racecourse rezoned for housing. Legislation brought in by Racing Minister Winston Peters in 2020 has given powers to NZTR to transfer property ownership of any club grounds it deems “surplus”. Locals have labelled it “a land grab”. Now this is great and no doubt the northerners will be holding their hands out for another stakes boost just look at what's available on March 8 at Ellerslie THE NZB KIWI Starting limit: 14, Ballots: 4 3YO SW+P 1500m - $3,500,000 Open /Close 2 TRACKSIDE NZ DERBY Starting limit: 18, Ballots: 6 3YO SW 2400m - $1,250,000 Open /Close Race Name Conditions & Distance 3 BONECRUSHER NEW ZEALAND STAKES WFA 2000m - $1,000,000 Nominations: 04 Mar 2025 12:00PM. I went to Ellerslie last Saturday just to have a look , brilliant , the track looked absolutely fantastic and the races I went to see were great to watch , 10 out of 10 for everything . Swapping the hill for the new track was an inspired move and the stakes on offer were superb , so this is the way to make racing relevant again , strong stakes , class facility's and good horses , Bring on next Saturday week . -

Super Don winning again . US President Donald Trump confirmed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit the White House to sign a major minerals deal but refused to guarantee Ukraine’s security. Ahead of Zelensky’s meeting with Trump set for Friday, the US president said: ‘I’m not going to make security guarantees beyond – very much. We’re going to have Europe do that.’ The deal will see Ukraine hand over billions of its mineral wealth and other resources to the US . Now there is much more to this , Ukraine is a very corrupt country that's why only 40% of voters voted at the last election but (1) this deal nails corruption , a joint USA Ukraine company will handle all of the finances and much of the money will go to rebuilding Ukraine (2) When the USA arrives to extract the minerals they will be in reality a safety guard , if Putin wants Ukraine he will have to attack USA citizens so the USAs mining company is effectively a barrier which Putin will struggle with , this all seems like a win for Trump, lets see what happens . Election result ,Quote . Zelenskiy will take charge of a country facing numerous challenges, including a struggling economy and an ongoing war against Russia-backed separatist forces in the east that has claimed more than 13,000 lives. Voting on Sunday took place across the country, from the Carpathian mountains in the west to the war-torn Donbass region in the east, where soldiers on the frontline had an opportunity to cast their ballots. “My nephew has been on the frontline in Donbass; what kind of country would put a clown in charge of its armed forces during a war?” asked Tetiana Hrytsenko, 61, who cast her ballot for Poroshenko on Sunday morning in Kyiv. Zelenskiy is best known for his role in the long-running Ukrainian television series Servant of the People, where he played a teacher unexpectedly elected to the presidency after an angry rant about corruption is posted online by his students.
