Leica Lucy has been impressive but the Te Rapa race was a walk sprint albeit interupted in the run home...$1.45 only if they repeat the dose, Rooke fell asleep on Alaskan and surprised to see hes back on? 2400 looks good for the Oaks and 7s place excites if she gets there....you know the odds so try and beat them 🤣

They said earlier tonight only the top 2 from each heat was guaranteed a place, plus LTF and the Chariots winner, then 2 wildcards. I imagine with the likes of superstars Swayzee and Don Hugo winning their way in, the 2 third place runners might sneak in. I hope so.

they could both be in ok Idol-mate. Not 100% certain but thought the invites were Leap To Fame as current title holder, The Chariots winner (Bay of Biscay) and the first 3 in each of those 2 sprints tonight to make up the 8 horse $1,000,000 Miracle Mile field. so that would be Swayzee, Don Hugo, Catch A wave, Captain Ravishing and the 2 x kiwis STB and Tact McLeod. I hope that's the case anyway. 🤩 -

Bit of a ride shotgun by Luke there for Cam Hart on Bay of Biscay . so not getting anything from there. Bay of Biscay will get the Miracle Mile spot but probably not one of the chances. -
You'd think STB would get one of the two wildcards, wouldn't you? A brilliant Ants Butt drive saw Tact McLeod pay yet another divvie without winning.

I hope you get some with Some American PS . Yes still up to watch BNU and then off to bed lol

Sooner The Bettor was a great 2nd last year to Leap To Fame too. so is a sure fire chance alright . Maybe Swayzee and 1/2 brother Larry might fight each other for a forward spot at the halfway and play right into the STB hands. Old mate Pete McMullen couldn't win the Ultimate Driver title for me last week Charlie , but tonight he has had 4 wins and a very unlucky held up 3 back the fence on Stormtide from his 5 drives tonight. he's not in last 3 races. He has a great strike rate. Better Knuckle Up about to jump. reckon you are up late to check him out. 👍 just had a win on Don Hugo so going for a Luke double' with Some American . in the Chariots of Fire . Luke is so cool in the Big Group 1's , I sometimes think he is related to MarkP lol 😅 -
I think this will be one of the best Miracle Miles ever don't you think PS ? Great run by Sooner the Better tonight as well 😀

Is quite astounding what they did tonight. both caught out wide and working for a half, then holding them off all the last quarter. in quick 1.48. too. Leap To Fame has a huge job to beat them next week in the Miracle Mile.? might get beat this time round.🤔 Catch A Wave quite an eye catching run too coming from last for 2nd . He has already Won a Miracle Mile previously and a Chariots of Fire too , (so can go a bit 😅) -
Wow what can you say about the efforts of Swayzee and Don Hugo tonight , just incredible

Gotta love how they get away with it, bloody ridiculous but they get results

Marketing 101 isn't it? If you want to promote something to an uninitiated public, you need someone they recognisable to front your campaign. No good rolling out racing personalities for the sake of it. Imagine Mark Walker popping up in the ads trying to generate some public excitement. Anyway the topic has been thrashed out enough on the Guy Heveldt threads but at the end of the day you want TV people doing TV things, and horse people doing horsey things. Its a winning formula for all sports broadcasting whether it be rugby, sailing, olympics etc... As soon as you start placing people outside their areas of competence it turns into a shambles.

You mean Laura "I'll Front Anything/Everything" McG? [McG sounds like her rap name]. She even fronted Sky Speed for a time when one of the regular hosts was absent for a week or three. She looked extremely uncomfortable have to talk about race cars/drivers. I actually felt sorry for her there, thrown in the deep end with no life jackets in sight. A faux pas by Sky TV as the sole remaining host could have coped better alone instead of trying to include somebody that doesn't know the difference between ____________ and ____________ [fill in the blanks yourself 🤣]

LOL Max made a fortune today with a bob each way on his 2 lay bets in 12 races...

Adding insult to injury, we now have to put up with a 10 days worth of promo hype for the Kiwi featuring that famously knowledgeable Kiwi racing personality ...(drum roll, please) LAURA MCGOLDRICK GUPTILL SMILEYMcSMILEYFACE FFS ...why??? if they really needed to 'celebritise' this any more...why not get Francesca (no surname required)? catchin' mah drift...or am I bein' obtuse? (Shawshank...no second word needed)

Yes, its a bloody shambles. We think NZ racing is badly run, but even we wouldn't be as arrogant as NSW. -
