This from the British tote webpage about the World Pool: World Pool means bigger financial returns to British racing through increased media rights payments to racecourses and more revenue generated via pool betting. I take the first part of the sentence to mean NZTR would get extra money from selling the World Pool races to more jurisdictions (NOT mentioned on the list of races available in the UK under the World Pool) while the second suggests there is a "cut" to the host nation from the actual pool though what that cut is I have no clue. As an example, £137 million was bet into the World Pool on the races at Royal Ascot in 2024. -

Not traditionally - Wellington was a district in its own right. The CD Districts combine Hawke's Bay, Horowhenua-Kapiti, Manawatu, Taranaki, Wairarapa and Whanganui. -

Good sized fields at Trentham last Sunday with heaps of Northerners' descending on the place. They won their share of races too. Who said that the Northerners' didn't want to travel to the CD as it was too expensive, especially for Group Races? 1 + 1 doesn't = 2 does it guys? -

If the Entain guarantee expired tomorrow we would be screwed! For the first 6 months of the season, the Gross Betting Revenue returned only 72.2% of the cost of running the races. When the guarantee expires, half of that revenue goes to Entain, the other half to TAB NZ/Racing NZ for distribution to the racing codes, which means that only 36% of our current Stakes & meeting expenses would be covered, that leaves a big gap for Sports Betting and probable Geo-Blocking to cover. -

Yes, the basic premise of most of my posts is that HRNZ are not putting the funding towards the areas of Harness Racing that will enhance the sustainability of the racing product, and the people and horses that provide it!

You can’t help some people….particularly those who cannot read…. Thousands being fired by Musk, thousands more losing benefits, unemployment and prices rising….and no one being affected ?🙈

Think it was predicted on this thread or maybe another one a couple weeks back that we wouldnt have enough 3YO's to fill the card. Shouldnt be a surprise to them that the noms are light, but never know these days... Perhaps it is indeed a surprise to the powers that be.
