I will tell you a funny story that happened years ago . I went down to Wanganui with Bill Smith , son of trainer Jim Smith you remember him of course as was working for Jim . Bill said to me Charlie back Bonnie Cardie I will piss in , from memory he was paying around $6 . Put my cash on , Bonnie Cardie lead to the turn and ran down the track hmmmm . Brought him back to Alex Park , Jim took the spreaders off , he lead all the way and paid $80 . Guess who didn't back him lol . I think since then I have been too traumatized to back a horse with spreaders 🤣

It was a big run from We Walk By Faith too. He was last turning for home and powered down the straight. He was third just after the post. Hayden and Amanda Cullen have got a strong team. A stable to follow.

Really?  A couple of abandoned meetings, carnage at the first KM night, remedial work and continual mechanical intervention repeatedly during the week preceding a race meeting and in your words it still isn't 100% right.  I hear there were a few casualties out of Champions Day too.  But if you're happy and positive all is good. Back to Trentham today. They run 1:07.83 on a Soft 6.  So is the rating wrong or is the unevenly irrigated shute as hard as concrete?   The commentator can't actually see the horses for the first 600m except from a drone - same as the Stewards.  However the drone does show us that a barely 3m wide strip was irrigated down the shute.

For obvious reasons, Max has a vested interest in this horse.. a bob each way at every run.  That's 19 runs by Oaks Day for the filly by a speed sire (Ferrando) out od a Duelled mare. Skymax is an honest trier who so far has lacked the class factor to be up there with the best girls of her year. But she's fit. The Rogie factor is always troublesome (for this Max, anyway). A stellar career f winners at the highest level(s) over decades but ... ...too many times to the well too often for too many horses (and there have been thousands)?? Go well, Skymax..you'll deserve a decent holiday in a grassy paddock after the Oaks (though I somehow doubt you'll get one!)

All you have ever done is knocked Ellerslie from day one. I also was critical to start with but it has improved due to extensive and constant work on it, still not 100% right yet but a huge improvement, however you just never can give an ounce of credit when any is due...negative Nelly... cant you just be positive for a second, its actually not that bad.....🤣
