My opinion is Paul Moroney is the best judge of a horse, he never has the huge budgets but he gets outstanding results....FWIW -

That's an old chestnut. The reality is the perform better than most and not as good as some with that metric. Although they have one of the highest Stakes winners ratios in the game. As for having the most horses in training that wouldn't appear to be the case as of today's NZTR figures: Te Akau 103 Marsh 136 Wexford 130 -

To be clear CM you were the only one who said it was a rabbit hole...I stated in my first post some sort of hole..... You said this... Why wasn't the rabbit hole reason mentioned in the Stewards Report where the emphasis was on the recovery slip? As I say you just twist things to suit your own agenda. -

WRC do not make the cut here - maybe they will be called to the Headmasters office soon New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) is thrilled to announce the finalists of the 2024 Club of the Year Awards, set to be awarded at the 2025 Industry Development Conference on 31 March. Each New Zealand Racing Club was assessed against a performance framework across four categories: Financial, Racing, Marketing and Compliance and Innovation. The selection of finalists and winners will be presented in three distinct categories: Metropolitan, Provincial, and Country Clubs. An overall Club of the Year Award will also be presented from the winners of each category. NZTR Chief Executive Officer Matt Ballesty is pleased to see our Clubs recognised for their performance. "We see our annual NZTR Club Awards as playing a pivotal role in recognising and celebrating the outstanding contributions and achievements of New Zealand’s well-performing racing Clubs," he said. "I look forward to getting to know our Club representatives at the Industry Development Conference and celebrating their collective wins." To reward our high performing Clubs, NZTR will provide a $20k prize fund distributed across the three categories: Metropolitan, Provincial, and Country, with each receiving $5k in prize fund. Additionally, the Overall Club of the Year will be granted $5k in prize fund. The prize fund should be used to invest in an event or on-course initiative and a short form business case will need to be presented to support the initiative by 31 July 2025. Yes but would you actually have a walkover or would the race be cancelled ? In the UK, even if there is only one runner, the race stands - if there are no entries or declarations, the race will be scrapped.

Looking back at the weekend just gone, I lost my money on CRAZIERTHANDAISY due to the drying ground. A punt on SIOG GEAL came off as she just held off the late challenge of LA PINSONNIERE who was arguably unlucky as she has hampered early in the race by a faller and lost a lot og ground and momentum - the eventual third, PIZMO BEACH, was also caught in the backwash and also did very well to run third. The winner stuck on determination and looks a nice prospect. This Saturday is in truth another quiet day but it does have the return of turf flat racing in Britain with a card at Doncaster and Francesca Cumani back on the telly. The ground on Town Moor is currently Good to Soft, Soft in places and as in Ireland the turf season opens with the first 2-y-o race, the Brocklesby, over 1000m. 22 entries and obviously no form - my eye focused on DANDY SPEED from the Charlie Johnston yard. As you might expect, a son of Dandy Man and a half to a decent sprint handicapper trained by Karl Burke. As we have a moment, a little housekeeping - next week sees the three day Aintree Grand National meeting starting on Thursday and while the 30 fences and 7200m of the big race dominate the meeting, there's a host of championship races where the Cheltenham form will be put to the test with those who performed at Prestbury Park up against those who swerved Gloucestershire for the tighter Merseyside track. Saturday week also features World Cup day at Meydan so a feast of racing. Five Group 1 races on the Dubai card withs ome very good horses on offer headed (arguably) by ROMANTIC WARRIOR. I'll be covering both with previews and reviews - I'm not sure what you'll be able to watch in New Zealand on Trackside.

Well only one nom'd for the 2yo race at Tauranga on Sunday so we might be about to find out .

Yeah well unfortunately I did watch it , he really does listening to himself and truly believes he holds some relevance in racing . I couldn't believe how much unsubstantiated crap he spouted . The best was "I am listening to experts", seriously , are they some of the people that have gotten us to our current position . I think it's time that he cut those people adrift .

You can knock yourself out doing that if you really can't work it out .
