One of nicest, down to earth, genuine people you’ll ever meet. Fun day at Flemington today even though we didn’t get the chocolates. How good Alabama for the Kiwis?! 😎

Good to see LIGHT INFANTRY MAN come back to form, He was a very good horse up here when trained by David Simcock - as a 3-y-o, ran midfield in the English 2000 Guineas and then finished second in both the Jean Prat and the Jacques Le Marois (on the second occasion just a neck behind the champion mare INSPIRAL). Came to Australia in late 2022 and ran a decent sixth in the Golden Slipper and went back to Europe for a 4-y-o campaign and mixed it with the very best. On his second run, he was seventh in the Lockinge then ran second in the Ispahan, third in the Queen Anne and third in the Marois (a bit further behind INSPIRAL). The truth was he didn't win much but was a strong contender in some serious mile races. I'm pleased he's won another Group 1 in Australia after the Northerly at the Aussie Ascot and maybe 2000m is what he needs now. Could be a Cox Plate contender later in the year?

There was a change to the 3rd placing in R8 from Trentham which wasn't initially noticed and only showed up - l think - in the last race of today's comp. Paid $2.80 a place, so that'd be the 28 extra points? (He says, not having been a part of this comp, so unsure of the exact format 🤣 )

She got a few more starts in her I'm sure, may have had an off day today, the ole war horse trotter Take After Me had his 400th start at 14yrs of age and finished a good 3rd, might not have reached the dizzy heights as some, but his longevity unbelievable.

HI SNM, Looking at the scores after Race 5 Peter RS was at 244 and scored 30 in Race 6 but finished with 302 instead of 274 if I have my maths Right. It does'nt affect the top 8 but some glitch perhaps. Thanks for all your good work.

“Despite high expectations, the star mare was unable to break away from the pack mid-race and quickly faded, becoming the first horse to drop out of contention. However, Maher hasn’t ruled out a possible appearance during the Sydney carnival, depending on how she pulls up from the race.”

Footnote: My mate Luke, who had been eliminated last week but put in his picks for fun, collected more on the last race than everyone (except the winner) else got all afternoon - nice picking Luke. I might have to consult with you for the final.

They got 12,000 on Golden Slipper Day last Saturday in a city of 5 million. Quite simply it is only the owners who turn up anywhere these days except for Royal Ascot and the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Gone at the 1000? She never lit up after jumping well from the gates. She was "gone" at the 1990!!
-
Yes ya could, pulled up well, no abnormalities, all to see in the stipes report.

So the vet inspection finds nothing. Jockey said she felt gone at the 1000. Trainer says he will assess more tomorrow. Owner is probably looking into what race would suit her at Ascot,UK.

And who controls the Weather folks? Take a look at the bigger picture out there including The World Meteorological Organisation website and Board of Directors. There's some maddening Science Experiments been going on in the world we all need to be awake and alert to. When was the last time New Zealand has had so little Rainfall over a 6 month summer period? This is having dreadful Consequences everywhere especially on Grass growth, Feed and Soils and our Livestock in general. Got to really feel for those everywhere impacted. We thank those who enlightened us several years ago about the Lynmouth Disaster in Devon, UK back in the 1950's era and how it happened. Documents previously embargoed for 70 years for Science Experiments are more published and accessible to us all much quicker. Stop and think about where Wind Turbines and Solar Panels are been "Farmed" across New Zealand which is a narrow isthmus and how those "objects" reflect and are inhibitors on natures systems. Then two years ago Rocket Lab and Musk both plonked Satellite systems above NZ. Why has Avondale had a problem with it's track? Look at the Underground Infrastructure that's gone on in the area, Waterview Tunnel, City Rail Link, Watercare Services plonking Gigantic Concrete Pipes that are now taking water that use to absorb into the Soil structure. The Apartment complexes in the area are also impacting Wind and Rain pattern flows Think about it folks and do something about it because your local Racecourses or backyard could be next. It's very very dry everywhere and we should have had more rain this Summer just gone and this nonsense of "Science Experiments" in and around NZ because we are surrounded by ocean waters started back in the 1960's by Professor Gregory a Meterologist at Canterbury University.

And on a slightly different subject, looking at the finish of the Australian Cup I turned to Joan and said, "she's bled again" I doubt that they will ever run her again, but even if she has bled, I will bet you that they will never announce it as such. HOWEVER if they announce that they "calling time because she's done enough" in effect that means she's bled and Scooby stance on this was correct. For a Lady I have put my "balls" on the line here and now! I guess that we will have to wait and see what happens next. P.S. I hope that they don't blame the "big NSW wet" for the retirement. [Yes I could have egg all over my face with my bold statements, couldn't I]
