To maintain the negativity I'd have thought 60+% of half a million A$ was hardly worth the trouble.🤣

Your man Winston has set a dangerous precedent banning greyhound racing, this is a right wing government, Winston's party has a 'war on woke' ... but they banned greyhound racing... 🤔 I'm genuinely concerned at how empowering this is for the activists and lefties, and I fear the horse racing industry is now one political cycle away from knowing how the greyhound people are feeling.

You can't twist facts and I'm sure @Insider is more than capable of rebuttal. The third horse won a BM70 4 starts ago. Alabama Lass has a Grp 2 win, 2 Grp 3 wins and 2 Grp 1 seconds. 6 wins and 3 seconds from 9 starts. -
Should pick up at least 2 at Manawatu on Tuesday and one at Timaru - roughie for you - Franco Hoffman. That will make it 7 wins in a week

Just saying we need straight shooters here not twisters.

Really? The second horse has had 10 starts and hasn't won a race since June 2024. How exposed do you want it? -

Plenty of pointers from this afternoon's Leopardstown meeting and more than a hint Ballydoyle have, in contrast to some recent seasons, hit the ground running. A treble for Aidan O'Brien but a double for Dermot Weld suggesting a number of the big Irish yards are more forward than usual thanks to the dry and warm early spring up here. HENRI MATISSE earned a 12/1 quote for the English 2000 Guineas after winning the Group 3 Red Rocks. He seemed to need every inch of the 1400m and looks to be well suited to an extra 200m. He won the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf and his only disappointing run was on soft turf in the Jean Luc Lagardere so if this dry spell continues you'd expect him to bounce off the quick Newmarket ground. DELACROIX got a 10/1 quote for the English Derby after an emphatic pillar to post win in the Ballysax. It's far too early to compare him to some of the past great winners of this race but he couldn't have been much more impressive and while I expect him to have one more run before Epsom he looks a very serious contender for Epsom. EXACTLY was backed in to 5/6 to make it a treble for O'Brien in the Group 3 races in the Priory Belle for the 3-y-o fillies but she was well held by Dermot Weld's SWELTER who has now won both her races. She's by Kingman out of a Pivotal mare so the ground probably can't be too firm for her. I think she's more likely to go for the Irish 1000 Guineas. Another to mention is the Weld trained TARIMA who was backed in to 4/7 on her debut over 1609m and bolted up. She literally could be anything - as you might expect she's an Aga Khan homebred - by Lope de Vega out of a Cape Cross mare making her a half to the very useful TAHIYRA and also to 2016 Arc runner up TARNAWA. You'd expect her to want further and she has an Irish Oaks entry. Definitely one for the notebook.

Plenty of former British and European gallopers in what looks a chewy Tancred at Rosehill on Tuesday. DUBAI HONOUR and VAUBAN cross paths for the first time - the former won the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on soft turf two years ago but if you look at his European form you wouldn't think he'd want heavy ground - he was well held in the Grand Prix de Chantilly on heavy ground last June (admittedly over 2400m). He's done his best running at 2400m recently winning the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud and then chasing home GIAVELLOTTO in the Hong Kong Vase on his last run but he's not wholly consistent. He's currently 118 in the UK. VAUBAN was a revelation over 2000m last time but for me he'd need to build on a Group 3 win in this company. He's rated 115 over here but has always been just short in Group 1 company over a range of distances from 2800m to 4000m up here. He's not run much on soft ground (won a Group 3 at Naas in 2023 on soft turf) and the inference from Willie Mullins is they always thought him better on a sound surface. ARAPAHO won the Group 2 Zipping Classic on soft turf last November and it wouldn't be the biggest surprise if he reversed form with VAUBAN. ZARIR is an interesting ex-French galloper who was runner up in last year's Ganay on very soft ground and chased home the useful IRESINE in the Foy at Longchamp. However, he was four lengths behind DUBAI HONOUR in the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud and on his first run in nearly seven months it's a big ask. Yulong Investments also have RIVER OF STARS, who was trained by Ralph Beckett over here. She ended her capaign with a second in the Group 1 Royallieu (over 3050m) at Longchamp on Arc day. Whether she can drop back this far on her first run is debatable but the slow ground will be in her favour. KINESIOLOGY has a bit to find with these on Irish form while ZECHARIAH also raced over further in the UK - he was once thought a Leger contender but that didn't work out. DUKE DE SESSA, the Caulfield Cup winner, is probably where I'd start here and he's available at 7s each way.

Gai Waterhouse annoyed at the postponement of Rosehill on Saturday: 'Madness' - Gai Waterhouse expresses frustration after Group 1 card is postponed following 17mm of rain | Racing Post I'm not sure with what she is annoyed - most courses would struggle with 65mm of rain on race day whether in New Zealand, the UK or Ireland and in the US the turf races would be switched to the Dirt if that quantity of rain fell on race day.

Bet on Red - tipped @$35 and again @$7.50 - biggest certainty of the year with the numbers being trained and the announcement of how many races were going to be held at the mighty Manawatu this season. TAB may as well pay out now.

You don’t know how good their form “might be” because it isn’t fully exposed yet Doug.
