Key words here are"will let you know very quickly if horse is not up to it" You don"t want a small hobby trainer who will keep you hanging on for the training fees
and the possibility of a 4th one day.
This is Arson a 4yo stud by Captain Treacherous out of Western Montana. His mother is in the US HOF, his 3/4 sister won over 2 million and was best female 2. 3 and older mare. He has another 3/4 sister who has won close to a million
He will never race again; He shattered his cannon bone, and it was a mess. The track vet wanted to euthanize him, but Anthony MacDonald said not until I talk to my own vet. The surgeon looked at the x-ray and said, I will operate but I don't like his chances. He has 33 screws and two plates, and it took over 5 hours to put his leg back together. The Vet said Humpty Dumpty has nothing on this guy.
He is one of the most intelligent horses they have trained and now he has to survive a potential infection and Laminitis. If he avoids in the next few months then he can go to stud. This would make a great stallion over there IMO. He won a bunch of races, some of them against Grand Circuit company. He won the previous week at Northfield Park getting ready for some of the bigger races. He has won over 400,000 US so while there would not be a great market for him here because there are already like 5 Somebeachsomehwere stallions standing here in the top 20 pacing sires.
Being an animal lover and a previous owner of 8 or 9, I hope he survives. 95 percent of horses and probably 100 percent of gallopers would be dead from this
There is a real niche in the market for that sort of stallion. Australia only seem interested in breeding sprinters and seem happy to import all their stayers as tried racehorses from Europe. NZ has been a bit slow to supply that type of horse so far.
Geez they even named a race after him , nice move , have a couple e w on num 3 slippery , good luck you will need it . (these are a challenging lot)

Yes, he didn't look too steady last Friday night at all. Hopefully just a small glitch, but it doesn't give me a lot of confidence in a bigger and hotter field only a week later (although look at what MARK PURDON did with CHASE A DREAM in one week), plus the bad draw thrown if for good measure.
