Max also wonders how much Trump's companies have made by selling shares over the last week or two prior to L Day.

Trump instigates a huge market sell-down while no doubt fully prepared to buy back in whenever it suits him and his cronies to do so... but when? How low can you go, Dow Jones/FTSE/Nasdaq (insert any Sharemaket name here)

NZTR Announces Boost to Jumps Racing Stakes New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) has announced several enhancements to the prizemoney for Jumps Racing, including immediate increases covering the remainder of the current season (May to July 2025), as well as the full 2025-26 racing calendar. NZTR’s total investment across 18 meetings and 57 Jumps races over this period will reach approximately $2.57 million. The increases highlight NZTR's ongoing commitment to the development and promotion of Jumps racing throughout the country. Highlights of the revised stakes include: Uplift in stakes for Feature Steeplechases across the season, with increases ranging from $15,000 to $50,000 per race. Restricted Open Jump Races will see stakes boosted from $30,000 to $40,000. In cases where these races are split into separate events for winners and maidens, winners will compete for $40,000, while maidens will race for $20,000. The Racecourse Hotel & Motor Lodge 150th Grand National Steeplechase at Riccarton Park on Saturday 9 August celebrates its 150th renewal this year, with the Canterbury Jockey Club set to announce a further stakes increase to this race in the coming weeks. These new stakes enhancements complement previously announced strategic initiatives, which include: A shortened jump racing season comprising 18 racing days, running from 11 May to 21 September 2025, concluding with an exciting two-day event at Te Aroha. A strategic shift towards non-Saturday racing days, with nine of the 18 Jumps racing days scheduled for Sundays, along with King's Birthday Monday and a feature Friday meeting on 19 September for the Great Northern Hurdle. Streamlining of venues to improve infrastructure, reducing host venues from previous seasons to seven locations. Notably, Jumps racing will no longer be held at Rotorua or Waverley this season. Introduction of the Amateur Series, primarily held at Jumps meetings, concluding with the prestigious Duke of Gloucester Cup on 19 September at Te Aroha. NZTR Chief Operating Officer Darin Balcombe commented, “These enhancements deliver immediate benefits for participants this season while supporting the ongoing development of Jumps racing.” “Following our strategic review last year, we’re focused on improving the experience for participants and fans as we head into next season,” he said.

While I agree it's your money and you can spend as you please, I also think there should always be some protection mechanism for consumers. Like loans (especially pay day loans etc). Loans must spell out the total interest been paid over the term of the loan. Not leave it to you to calculate. After that then buyer beware and go for it if this is the model you desire. Zormella looked smart. -

I agree wholeheartedly. Buyer beware. Obviously some syndicates offer a better deal than others. -
Disqualified for life. And after reading the RIB report it seems to me life was the only suitable option

Ken Ring - Long Range Forecaster · Follow rndpseotSohmM1M71c1 5195la3fP2t5 u7hcih28:0 0 8a956133r20lg0 · Earthquake reminders Remembering back to our school days, we recall that inertia = mass x speed, in other words the faster something moves, the more power it can generate. We see it every day in a karate performance, in which a fast-moving downward hand of a non-muscular demonstrator can smash a concrete block. When opening a stubborn jam jar lid, twist it fast and you would have more success, than if you tried opening it slowly. When your mother moved quickly in removing a plaster, there was no time for pain. The moon moves with varying speeds relative to the earth throughout its cycle. It is therefore logical that when it moves the fastest, it has greater effect on the earth, especially in the earthquake prone areas. So let us look at when the moon is moving the fastest. It moves the fastest when each of three lunar situations occur. The three are new moon, perigee, and lunar equinox. When, in rare times, all three happen together within 24 hours, the situation is that the moon creates its most powerful effects. Such an occasion occurred on the 28/29 March (according to your time zone). Not only was it new moon, but also lunar equinox moving north, and perigee #4, a powerful perigee. The 23 March was the southern declination, in other words a peak down here which was why our earthquake graph shows the strongest lunar forces in the month occurred 23-29. Tonga received another today. Does this explain the Myanmar tragedy? The earthquake prone period was active all over the world, in this small timeframe, including a 6.8 mag event in the west of the South Island and a couple of other shakes in New Zealand that attracted attention. The Myanmar event occurred when the moon was overhead. The huge bolt of energy sprung the seismic forces. Presumably, the seismic damage was done, and a couple of hours later, the world was told of the damage. This timing is common with big earthquakes, with the time of strike heralding the damage e.g. for one of the large 2011 Christchurch shakes. But the moon moves on quickly in its orbit. Not only was the 23 March responsible for earthquakes, it was also the tail end of this tropical cyclone that affected Queensland (and eventually NZ) and why we predicted that the rain would persist in that state for most of the month. It may be of interest that the last time the worrisome three situations occurred together was 8 April 2024. The next time will be 1 September 2027. Of course there will be a scratching of the heads of the geologists and scaremongers. The moon is the last thing that they would consider, and yet they refuse to do the simplest relevant research. It is simply not fashionable, nor profitable. With the advent of April, except possibly for the 8th-9th and the 23rd, the promise is for settled weather after 10th, with a dryness that will worry many farmers, on both sides of the Tasman. Why knock people trying something new to get people involved...dont like it dont join in but no need to put sand in someone else's rice bowl. -
Trump is a crook. Remember the Trump Foundation he was using that as his own little piggy bank. Just as well for him he was convicted under a civil trial. He molested women and bragged about it in a tape. He tried to reverse an election (Remember January 6). He tried to manipulate election results remember the "I just need to find 11,800 votes". He held onto confidential documents an showed them to others while telling them that he should not be doing it. I could go on and on. He is a crooked prick who should be in jail
