There is one thing for certain in preparation of next Saturday's Hawkes Bay's Cup meeting at Trentham, and that is they won't be irrigating this coming week.
Yesterday the track received 35.8 mm of beautiful steady rain and at the same time the temperature got to a high of 21 degrees.
In my mind, that is the perfect preparation for the track to be every bit as good as it was last Saturday.
I have to say that the racing weather gods have been very fair to Trentham this year given the incredible amount of racing the track has had to endure.
All I can say is I gotta 'monster' hangover and I'm goin back to bed.🤢 Idol mate I think you ment Chase A Dream, went better than you thought, DSDreamin ran last....
Cheers Iraklis

As an enthusiastic watcher of breeding trends both here and elsewhere, I'm excited to see a horse of this quality available here, we had Montjeu a few years ago and Almanzor currently, but this is a rare animal indeed.
Only thing is, his stock may languish for opportunities if retained here, the options for middle distance and up horses are pretty limited.
In a week where the world’s best horses, jockeys, and trainers are on show, few have attracted more attention than James McDonald, whose partnership with Romantic Warrior has brought him to the Dubai World Cup meeting for the first time. View the full article
It wouldn't quite be fair to say that the team around Facteur Cheval (IRE), who is owned by Team Valor International and Gary Barber, were anonymous in the week building up to the 2024 Dubai Turf (G1T). View the full article
Kept dry most of the night but came out for the big race to see the machine LTF in the flesh. What a performance!!!! Something I'll never forget. Even my driver - sadly I generally need one of those on trips outside of Auckland in case things go awry - was impressed. She asked me what was wrong early on when he was running last, but l just said "be patient", and BOOM. DSD went better than l thought, unlike many on here who expected a huge run, and Merlin finished 3rd where l expected him to be. But DON HUGO faded a little more than expected, but l think the track was pretty stuffed on the pegs. Huge run by PINSEEKER too, but it was all about LEAP TO FAME for mine. He's a monster.
No surprise Blair Orange could not get any drives at Cambridge. Most over-rated driver there is, IMO.
Has not been in the top 10 UDR rated drivers in the last 10 years, if ever.
Seems to get a big % of his drives in Southland these days.
What a great field. Impossible for me to narrow it down to just a few. There's a Breeders Cup winner in the field in Moira and a Japanese horse that has beaten Equinox.
