Verry Ellegant's 3/4 sister, Belle Detelle, won the G3 Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m) at just her 5th start. Form line now 5 starts: 2 wins / 2 seconds /1 third. Maybe Nick Bishara and his friends have another good one. The filly is out VE's half sister, Black Lace by Towkay.

The last ATC meeting, on the 21st March, has been the highest Staked meeting this year with Stakes of $587k spread over 10 races, T/O $835k, the GBR was $64k, the Funding figure is not posted yet but will be about $26k, that is a huge LOSS, with the GBR/Stakes being only 10.9%. The 3 major races were won by South Island horses; $150,000 3YO Fillies- first 3 SI $200,000 3YO C&G - first & third $60,000 FFA - first & second Even the $25k 2YO C&G heat had S I first and second, the 2YO fillies heat was a waste of space with only 4 starters. Auckland does not attract T/O, why does HRNZ continue to fund Listed & Group races there, when they would have a better chance of profitability, or more likely a smaller loss, in the South?

Ken Ring - Long Range Forecaster · Follow penosStrdo18p74iml 8:lugh0 1lg938 t1gc9ti9i07ma611AratP8l3M · Moon over Puerto Rico next earthquake? Here again is our list for the year 2025: Jan 7: Nepal, India Feb 2: Cook Islands Mar 1: Columbia, Hargeysa Mar 30: Vietnam, Bahamas, Gulf of Mexico Apr 27: Puerto Rico, Surabaya May 26: Manila, Brazil June 23: India, Paraquay July 20: Gulf of Mexico, India August 14: Papua New Guinea, Guyana September 10: Guatemala, Tanzania October 8: Vanuatu, Mauritania November 5: Africa, S Pacific December 4: Hawaii, N Africa We were successful for the recent earthquake, saying Vietnam for the larger area. Myanmar was not as widely heard of but technically is a short distance away. the outer borders of both areas are about Auckland to Wellington apart. That makes our record 100% thus far this year, and should be a glaring lesson in earthquake prediction, that being around the perigees. I take no glory from the prediction, but view the event as extremely tragic and to a certain extent, like Christchurch in 2011, lives could have saved if the correct information was freely available and the people alerted. The next date to watch is 27 April at 4pm (UTC) in or near Puerto Rico. What can be done? For a couple of days around that date people need to erect outdoor shelters and avoid entering tall apartment blocks. Doubtful foundations could be strengthened and warning bells of early tremors erected in all relevant cities. Of course it may not happen, but all the effort will not have been for nothing. Yet for proof of the moon's involvement just look at the mounting record so far this year. But first you need a brain-shift in favour of the moon. I have provided it on this thread and am willing to engage in any debate that casts negative judgement. Be watching world news around 27 April for, unfortunately, the next tragedy, and cancel any plans to go there.. -

Global markets swoon as Trump heads to the golf course Markets tumbled in Wall Street’s worst crisis since the pandemic as investors fled after China retaliated against tariffs. Two days after sending the economy reeling by announcing widespread tariffs, United States President Donald Trump headed to play golf at Mar-a-Lago, his private club in Palm Beach, Florida, even as the sell-off for financial markets worldwide is slamming into a higher, scarier gear. Before heading to his private golf course, Trump wrote on social media: “THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO GET RICH.” Investors are not buying that message. The S&P 500 tumbled 5.7 percent as Wall Street’s worst crisis since the COVID pandemic crash deepened after China matched Trump’s big rise in tariffs announced earlier this week. The move increases the stakes in a trade war that could end with a recession that hurts everyone. Not even a better-than-expected report on the US job market, which is usually the economic highlight of each month, was enough to stop the slide. The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 2,034 points, or 5 percent, and the Nasdaq composite was 5.6 percent lower, with an hour remaining in trading. So far, there have been few, if any, winners in financial markets from the trade war. European stocks dropped roughly 5 percent. The price of crude oil tumbled to its lowest level since 2021. Other basic building blocks for economic growth, such as copper, also saw prices slide on worries the trade war will weaken the global economy. The central question looking ahead is: Will the trade war cause a global recession? If it does, stock prices will likely need to come down even more than they have already. The S&P 500 is down roughly 17 percent from its record set in February. Investors do not expect volatility to subside quickly. “Until there’s actually a change in the policy or evidence of real negotiations going on, the market’s going to be under pressure,” said Kathy Jones, chief fixed income strategist at the Schwab Center for Financial Research in New York. Adding to market fears on Friday were comments from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, who said that the tariffs were “significantly larger than expected” and are “highly likely” to cause more inflation – at least in the short term but possibly in the long term as well.

Furthermore, at the time of writing, in this current , as yet unfinished 2025 season, Blair Orange sits 16th on the HRNZ UDR rating table.

I saw Mark being interviewed as well after his galloper won Idolmite what a talent Mark is . Like he said LTF could be the best horse in the world . In my lifetime I have seen Young Quinn , Robalan , Christian Cullen , Lazarus etc and LTF is the best horse I have ever seen . Horses dont win like that 3 wide , parked and running record times , imagine if these guys handed up the front to him he would win by more . The other horses I mentioned no way could they do it in their day . As expected the handy horses filled the placings except for Duchess Megxit who went awful . Great runs by Merlin and Pinseeker . Chase a Dream has to be the best horse in NZ and scary to think he will probably improve with age . Was thinking too where is Alta Meteor he has been missing from the big races so far . Oscar not good . I bet Mark might be wondering , taking his overcheck off last night might have been a bad idea

"How about checking facts before posting garbage?"....said "Spikecity" Apologies Spikecity, I did get my facts wrong 1. I should have said "seasons" not "years" 2. In the 2020 season Blair Orange finished 9th rated UDR driver, so my mistake. 3. In 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 & 2015 he was not in the top 10 UDR rated drivers. 4 A bit selective to pick the current season, as it has not finised yet..............

Yeah, beautiful morning in Auckland this morning too. Eyeball to eyeball Larry put the young pretender in his place. Let's hope he's back in November as Grant Dixon wants to be, and that Swayzee tries for the hat trick as well. It's tough on the local contingent but awesome for the fans. To be fair though, Kiwi horses have won plenty in Australia over the years. At the moment the reverse is happening. We need a new challenger with real X factor. Maybe CHASE A DREAM could be it as we were robbed of the best from AKUTA and MILLWOOD NIKE.
