It's bizarre there's nothing alongside those times to say hand timed which obviously they are and nothing in the stewards to say this, as well also that they are questionable and will be reviewed. It could only happen in NZ racing 😄 -
Thanks SNM and Scooby for a most enjoyable comp. I was out of the gates like a rocket, I thought it was an 1100 metre sprint, unfortunately I could'nt keep the pace up. Congrats to the winner Reacher and the placegetters, there was some serious selections there on a tough day.

Just seen the race. It all worked out really well for James MacDonald as he kept her towards the rail while Tom Marquand was caught out wide on DUBAI HONOUR along with TOM KITTEN and a number of the other closers. That's track and pace knowledge for you. They ran 2 minutes 00.41 seconds which is a good time for 2000m but it didn't look an end to end gallop. I'm hoping the sectionals will show they were really trapping down the straight and she's always been a 2000m type while DUBAI HONOUR is more a 2400m horse having won the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud. I thought the second ran with real credit by the way and I imagine there'll be a summer European campaign for him. VIA SISTINA is a real champion - interesting she's only been asked to run once on really quick ground and that was on debut so clearly really firm ground might not be ideal (as it isn't for many horses). I'd love to see her in Europe but I know that won't happen - perhaps we'll send something decent to take her on in the Cox Plate this autumn. Good to see ARAPAHO back to his best in the Sydney Cup - fourth in it two years ago and he's always promised to be better over further thought his form at shorter distances is decent.

Congrats to all especially the winner Reacher...and of course our marvellous scorer SNM who without him RC could not have so many successful comps...cheers. -
If the horse paying $2 has a better than 50% chance of winning you back it. If the horse paying $5 has a better than 20% chance of winning you back it. Singles or multis it doesn't matter, but you must avoid ruin.

Congratulations to you Reacher - a fantastic effort and a worthy champion. Perhaps our first rookie to win a comp of this duration. Finished as the 22nd seed in qualifying, 4th in week 1 of the play-offs, 1st in week 2 of the play-offs to qualify for the big dance and 1st again today - quite dominant! Well done also to our runner-up Sayer (5th seed) who looked in good shape early on today but was run down by Reacher. and also to third place-getter Blaird - top 3 finishes for 4 weeks running! Who said he'd run his final already!? Grand Final - Randwick R7 (9 of 12) Only Peter RS with Arapaho in the Cup. ($277 collected) -
If true, then that really is typical of why the greyhound industry in this Country has achieved the status of hopeless

How bloody good was that performance? She has equalled WINX's record of 7 Gr1s in one season. I have to admit my lounge floor will never be the same with my jumping and shouting.. Then we had Fangirl's effort, You woudn't be dead for $500 a week and your keep with racing like that would you.?

Yes indeed, two world class steers …. He just rides Randwick so well and his moves from the 800 to the 600 always intrigue me … he clearly reads the horses ahead so well
-
The race has just been run and won ...and Max has to say ... the confidence of JMac to stay close to the rail (from2nd last) and get a run like that....astonishing confidence The video should be shpwn at all of those apprentice jockey training sessions!

In this day and age should we really still be “hand timing” our races… Trentham today: Sharp Enough 1000m - 54.82s Slipper Island 1200m - 1.05.13s Not just this meeting either, has been happening for a while there now. Often find if you look again in a few days they must’ve re-timed off the tv as they add a few seconds. Gives a huge false perspective to everyone involved and extremely unprofessional (which seems to go hand in hand with nz racing).

That's okay if you're a $100 punter. If you're a $20 punter the multi is the better option.
