He has reached the performance benchmark, no strike on his record this season by the looks. Three strikes and you’re out - he has no strikes -

It's all about finding value, but obviously the odds for a game are typically lower than for a horse (unless it's a nomates multi) 😁, unless we're betting golf or futures etc. I look at pokies similar to multis. You'll get a big jackpot every now and then, but more often than not, they'll rinse your bank account. However, absolutely no skill involved in pokies, whereas there is skill involved in picking a multi. At the end of the day, if you're gambling for fun, have fun. If you're trying to make a living (or a second income) then it's typically more about money management, research, staking plans, and value hunting than anything else, but that's a discussion for another day -
Now Sport betting is another discussion If you want small returns for high risk go there, like playing Pokies a massive NO for me

"and as a racing man you will know how many times that it is the sure thing that has let me down" Exactly this. People throw $1.40 chances into multis to boost payouts and they often get let down. Good luck mate! -
Haha , I often have 2 leg multis , small investment only , if I really like a $2 shot , I will put a small amount the odds horse simply so I can get a lump on the $2 and don't have to risk a large amount on the $2 shot . But I always have a small investment on the longer odds horses I have taken with the $2 shot . Just cover my bases . All I'm trying to do is get a decent amount on what I think is a good thing , and as a racing man you will know how many times that it is the sure thing that has let me down . Not trying to get rich , it's just a bit of fun now . It's racing .

Just seen this post . For a start I don't bet sports , I trust sportsmen less than I trust horses and jockeys . Secondly as I stated earlier I don't take lots of multi's anymore , especially in NZ , I regularly got plenty up but simply don't trust the riders anymore . So when I take them it's always Syd/Melb and only at the best meetings . When I did take them regularly I often backed one of the better odds runners if I really rated it . Plenty of weekends now where I don't have a bet . Next time I have a losing multi I'll just shrug and look to the next time I have a bet , I would do more than shrug if I followed your 2 units on 3 shorts and 1/2 lost . Good luck to you though .

I was using a $100 bet as an example. It could be a $1 bet, the principal is the same. My original post was suggesting a two-leg multi with $5 and $2 options, not three short favs. Different bets can't be painted with the same brush. -
It's viable if they all win . Risk and reward . Read my reply to SLB . I'll stick to my smaller bets for a greater return .
-
Well good luck to you , that is a riskier strategy than what I done . As I said it's racing and anything can happen , at those prices it's hard to get a decent return , and trying to get regular small returns is hard bloody work , on the heart as well as the pocket . I am happy to drop $50 on the prospect of a 600+% return than $600 for around 65% return , if all 3 win . But good luck to you .

Can't disagree with that! You don't bet NRL/AFL - I thought you were an Aussie? -
Don’t bet over Winter Only bet in MLB and NSW on premier days, very very selective. Haven’t bet in NZ for many years Again setting odds in my favour

I can understand that, Tom. It's great to land a big one, and like you, I don't use the TAB. I would just rather see punters profit from a week of betting, as opposed to putting all their eggs into a multi basket and going for broke, with broke being the keyword. All the best with your multis this week! I pray you land one. -
Well I am actually not a good friend of the TAB SLB, my bets are restricted a little reflecting past performance. True it ain’t hedging in the true sense but it is cashing out before you start. NM and I not looking for a minor return, say again … all duck no dinner. Your style of betting may get you back to where you started, maybe, but I love getting a 5k drop into my account …. and I aim for them, you don’t but each to their own

What's the weather like there? Wouldn't imagine it'll be a very pleasant night for horsemen or public.

And to answer your question on how I would bet your $1.65, $2, $1.65 multi. I'd put 2 units on each pick. If one unit is $100, that's $600 spent, and if I go 2/3, even with the $1.65 shots winning, I profit.
