Good luck. I secured the 19s and im in for the ride. Crazy overs considering the efforts last start.
My favourite horse Pakaraka Star won the Easter 30 years ago. At the time Vinnie was becoming a regular rider on PS but unfortunately wasnt on board that day. Hope he can get it done for you today.
The southern situation is all about removing any alternatives and forcing trainers to race on the AWT. They would love to be able to do that in the north.
Unfortunately it does make it very difficult to place a wet track horse in the south, especially a lower grade wet tracker.
The options in the south are mostly to race for low stakes on the AWT or race for higher stakes on the Riccarton grass track against the best wet trackers going around. It is difficult to find a $17,000 lower grade race for a wet tracker in the south.
The difference being is that they actually want to retain Hastings don't they? It is one of the favoured few, and they have eliminated all of the alternative tracks nearby.
So any problems with HB would be down to incompetence rather than an agenda.
Hope your right O , first headline I read on stuff this morning was " Lightning strikes , flash flooding hit Auckland on a Wild Night",
How much more of an omen do I need .
Habana in the Easter, Race 8 number 2 at $10's and Eagle Farm Race 8 number 7 Libertad, noticed it has been scratched from several other races in Sydney. Fresh up and last start was only 1.5 lengths from Joliestar. Currently at $8's.
I am missing the weekly tipping the competition already.

"We must continue to look elsewhere" ...
Then look at ... foalmare.com ... my new website launched today, a revisiting of the work (and I think confirmation of the findings) of Harold Hampton and Clive Harper.
... "the most rational pedigree analyst of the 20th century, the American Joe Estes"
Estes did a fine line in ridicule, but I think he did not contribute much himself. Estes said all pedigrees are much the same after the first two generations and you can learn nothing beyond the first two.

Tapeta is the superior surface for sure.
I am/was so frustrated with the experts (the people who made the decision for NZ) when they went with Polytrack.
At the time, I asked one of them, why not Tapeta and the answer was because; “Polytrack are based in Australia and they know what they are doing, they are successful over there”
Yeah right!
