He is a stunning looking horse and was poorly ridden in several of his Australian starts. He may be a more settled horse now and be able to be ridden a bit better.

Very impressive again at Addington. Small field yes but destroyed the opposition to sit 2 from 2 . An impressive yearling who made 95K he looks likely to boost that in future starts for his connections

Abandonments at Hastings in recent years: 28 September 2024 - 2nd day of the Triple Crown meeting - Arrowfield and HB Guineas Day - meeting abandoned after slipping on bend past the post; 18 July 2024 - meeting cancelled due to surface water not draining; 25 May 2023 - meeting abandoned after race 1 due to horses slipping between 1600m and 1400m; 1 October 2022 - HB Guineas and Arrowfield meeting cancelled due to surface water; 7 October 2017 - HB Guineas day abandoned after race 5 due to slipping past the post (e.g. exactly the same place as in 2024); 19 September 2015 - meeting abandoned Gold Trail - Windsor Park - abandoned after race 3. A renovation was done in the autumn of 2024  to address the significant issues however reports say the fundamental issue particularly the bend past the winning post was not addressed.  Those issues include poor soil structure and severe compaction, broken or inadequate drainage and a reverse camber on the problematic bend.  Prior to the 2024 Autumn renovation it had been decided by the Club and NZTR that a major reconstruction of the track was required.  The HB Guineas Day abandonment 2024 has brought that reconstruction forward.  The Club had been considering selling the Hastings location and moving to a new location and building a new track.   When considering that the work needed to bring Awapuni back online was somewhere between $5m to $15m it wouldn't be incorrect to assume that a similar amount of capital will be required to fix Hastings.  Note the figures are estimates as to date only $5m has been publically reported in the accounts of RACE and NZTR for the Awapuni work.    

Notwithstanding anything that I have previously posted on this subject, he [Storm Bot] will probably look pretty good over there in the sprinting ranks, simply because in general, Australian sprinting form is much superior.
