There is and on a decent track she will be very hard to beat.Maybe ask her trainer why he ran her today I am sure he will tell you....maybe they didn't know she would go so bad on it...but I do not know for sure as I dont own her.
Similar can be said for Waikato...some horses can not handle it either...and there is alot of kickback there on wet days too...yes some tracks are horses for courses for sure.
indeed they arent't ...so..if they had any doubt about her ability to 'go' on a Heavy track, why did she start?
Thr only possible excuse I can find is the weight she carried on that Heavy ground...but as a Grp winning mare she will be hard to place...perhaps a WFA F&M race in the next 2 months if there are any..
I think to be fair , regarding horses not handling a non traditional tracks , there will always be a certain % that won't handle it . There will be a difference between a firmer and a softer Ellerslie , But as there has been a lot of sand on it there will be horses that simply do not handle it irrelevant of weather .
I struggle to read it as a punter , and hence don't have too many bets there . Certainly the longer they race there then a certain form line is going to become clear , those that do and those that don't .
So you try driving a normal car in a sand dune and see how that goes...blind Freddy could see she never went a yard in it...and until today the track was not wet...they are not machines .
Hmmm..if they're looking to win Spring races for her, why race now for a $17k stake going into the worst of the weather/track conditions?
If today /bwas a 'trial' I wish someone had said so publicly b4 Max anchored this classy mare in his quaddie LOL.
Seems to me that she's become a riddle wrapped in a puzzle inside and enigma and the connections are just trying to work her out.
dont accept the excuse that she didnt handle today's track conditions.
On her run today there's serious doub that she wants to be a raechorse any longer and the broodmare barn is calling!
Wanganui will be a borefest straight to the outside fence on a bottomless mud hole....Awapuni should get through OK I am hearing its in really good shape for the reopening. As you say though many will be holding their breath ....🙏
So whats better a soft track or a bog...do you think any other track in the country could have even held a meeting with that amount of deluge the night before...come on you are starting to sound like your friend Douggie now.
They still ran the day and of course some horses would not handle it...that is why summer horses do not race in the winter....🤔
By a Stallion who has been shipped to a far off land he never won a Group race in Oz and NZ form is greatly downgraded...look at Belclare last year and she has a much better record than Wolverine has...Nah would be lucky to get 50% of what they paid maybe even less....
