Good luck to Stephen,Mark and the rest of the El Vencedor team on Sunday lets hope he can do New Zealand proud... El Vencedor on-track for FWD QEII Cup By NZ Racing Desk - April 22, 2025 Share El Vencedor had a solid workout in Hong Kong on Tuesday morning. Photo: Hong Kong Jockey Club Quality New Zealand galloper El Vencedor (NZ) (Shocking), continued his preparations for the prestigious HK$28 million Gr.1 FWD Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2000m) at Sha Tin this Sunday, with a solid workout on Hong Kong’s all-weather track on Tuesday morning. “He is striding out nicely,” trainer Stephen Marsh said. “He’ll have a good hit-out on the turf on Thursday (24 April) with Zac (Purton). And that will do him.” El Vencedor’s journey to Hong Kong hasn’t been without challenges. Shortly after arrival, the son of Shocking experienced a minor setback with a hind hoof abscess. However, Marsh remains optimistic, stating that the issue has been resolved and the horse is back on track. The gelding’s recent form has been nothing short of impressive, boasting three consecutive Group One victories: the Herbie Dyke Stakes, Otaki-Maori WFA Classic, and the Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes. These performances have earned him a spot among the world’s elite, ranking equal 10th in the latest LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings. El Vencedor’s adaptability on the track has been a significant asset. “The last four races he has led, he has trailed, he has sat in the one-one and has sat outside the leader and he has done a bit of everything,” Marsh noted. El Vencedor will face a formidable lineup in the FWD QEII Cup, including Goliath, Liberty Island, Prognosis, and Hong Kong Derby hero Cap Ferrat. -
a tad contradictory, don't you think TA? You say they "had applied" to join NATO and were then happy for the war to start Therefore, there was no "existing conflict" when they applied...

Thanks for that...good luck CM finding the dozens in the last two years that cost more than 800K that have performed...TA is great at what they do and DE has done a fantastic job over the years but Douggie/CM stop telling porkies. -
I have done some studying - Te Akau bought horses from Karaka from 2018 - 2022 that cost more than $350,000. I got this information from the Karaka Yearling Sales results and then the amount they won from Love Racing. I am not anti Te Akau. I had previously purchased some shares in Style Queen in 2019 who unfortunately never got to the races. These do not contain any subsequent sales amounts or any stud fee's. 2018 - Laureate, purchased for $625000, return was $4850 - Full Of Joy purchased for $900000, returned $0, Lethal purchased for $1.025m returned $6300, Festivity purchased for $410000, returned $156900, Exaltation purchased for $900000, returned $57500, Equinox, purchased for $750000, returned $93730. Total purchased was 26 and only 3 made more than their purchase price. 2019 - Press Baron purchased for $475000, returned $0, No Limits purchased for $1.4m, returned $6800, The Might Spar purchased for $430000, returned $149000, Conquistador purchased for $775000, returned $900. Total purchased was 36, only 6 made more than their purchase price. 2020 - Armory purchased for $375000, returned $0, Noverre purchased for $800000, returned $355000, Imperatrize purchased for $625000, returned $7.5m, Patriarca purchased for $325000, returned $12110, Espionage purchased for $875000, returned $22110, Medal purchased for $500000, returned $4949. Total purchased 26, only 4 made more than their purchase price. 2021 - Vow To Reign purchased for $625000, returned $0, Stella Splendida purchased for $800000, returned $46995, Treaty Of Paris purchased for $520000, returned $80697, Wingspan purchased for $360000, returned $0, Dynastic purchased for $360000, returned $740000. Total purchased 37 with only 6 made more than their purchase price. 2022 - Ascend The Throne, purchased for $575000, returned $202000, War Of Succession purchased for $500000, returned $20160, Lady Of Court purchased for $350000, returned $27900, Autocracy purchased for $440000, returned $745, Rue De Rivoli purchased for $340000, returned $25330, Zourion purchased for $475000, returned $76840, Never Forgotten purchased for $850000, returned $4245, Rule Of law purchased for $600000, returned $38800, Stylistic purchased for %525000, returned $0. Total purchased 32, only 7 made more than their purchase price. They did purchase some below $350000 that made much more than their purchase price but as you can see for the total's there weren't that many. I found these results quite surprising. If anyone is interested, I can post the horses that were bought for less than $350000 that made a profit.

Simple , Ukraine was happy for the war to start because they had applied to join Nato and thought that would guarantee them automatic protection they were wrong it turned out if an existing conflict is happening you cannot join NATO , those are the rules . You do realize about 13? years ago a democratically elected pro Russia government was over thrown and a government that favors the west was installed . -

Seven years later and the Europeans are in panic mode because Trump was correct the Europeans are scrambling to increase their defense spending , doing what Trump told them to do all those years ago , his mind hasn't changed the days of Europe bludging off the USA are over . -
Trump left the assembled presidents and prime ministers floundering, unsure whether he was serious about the 4% target, double the existing Nato target of 2%, which many do not meet, or whether it was just a ploy. Ay, there's the rub. The POTUS is not trustworthy because he changes his mind, policies, friends and enemies with reckless abandon.

Got a share of one that trialed at Cambidge the other day. She is local and familiar with the going Would not have wanted her to go to Foxton to run around in the hope of 2 rating points. We got them too. All the top or "names" trainers had runners except Te A.

No plan B. Once he missed the start it was always a matter of stick with plan A.
