Wanganui of course would be the last place in NZ that needs a cut away rail over the next few months. It needs something like a deflecting rail directing everyone to the outside fence. -

Sounds like the good old days at Ellerslie. I don't recall the cut away rails being so prominent elsewhere. -

I watched it on someone else's TV on Saturday and it was 30 seconds behind watching the TAB stream on my laptop. Got shut out of Queensland twice. Admittedly I did save my money both times. They had crossed the line on my laptop when they still had 600m to go on the TV. Queensland is always a challenge for late punters like myself as they show recorded coverage then cross back live just as they are about to jump. -
I do know the TAB's "Premier" channel, which they broadcast across as an extra channel for the very big meetings is broadcast as a lower resolution model making the picture anything but "premier", thus on a big screen 4K TV the picture comes across as terrible via Sky TV. I haven't tried what you're doing Pak Star,, but the complaints are too many for it to be a coincidence. May be linked however.

Most interesting I think was it wasn't shown in any lead up track information all week and Raceday to the point it was even noted in the Stewards Report but everyone else could see it.

I had freeview with an outdoor aerial and it would stream crystal clear. Moved house a month ago and went internet based - now have the same issue as everyone else. All the other freeview channels stream perfectly, but trackside turns to shite after a few brief seconds of HD coverage. Can't get my head around why.

Had a quiet run at its last start .CF decides after it was checked and broke early, he would send it to the lead via a 3 wide run from well back. Ran a great 2nd and would have slept well that night. Next start will tell us how much it took out of it. Agree though with Charlie that Hurrells drive on it at Kaikoura would be the undoing of most horses. The next start at Addington over Cup week no better

Just want to add Another BIG big winner to your list O'man. Greg Won his First Interdominion Grand Final just prior to winning with his champion trotter Just Believe for the 2 Championships run in 2022 and 2023. And he did it for a remarkable New Zealand man Richard Brosnan, who a long time ago Won the Interdominion at Addington , when he finished brilliantly from the rear of the field with the great trotter No Response . Greg drove a great race on Maori Law, and beat the NZer Majestic Man in 2021 at Menangle, and his future star Just Believe was 3rd, before he got him to train himself. here's a snippet from Stuff NZ. Expat-Kiwi trainer Richard Brosnan and son Emmett turned back the clock 42 years when Māori Law won the Interdominion Trotters Final at Menangle, near Sydney, on Saturday night. Brosnan senior, 73, was training near Timaru when he won the same race with No Response at Addington in 1979, steering him home with a huge late run, but Māori Law led all the way in a dominant win for Aussie driver Greg Sugars. He worked the eight-year-old forward to take the lead from Oamaru-trained hope Majestic Man and never looked in danger, beating him by 1.7m, with Just Believe coming from three pegs to finish third in a 1min 59.4sec mile rate for 3009m. “To win a Group One race, let alone the Interdominion, with the old man is pretty amazing,” Emmett Brosnan told Harness Racing NZ's (HRNZ) website. -

Maximus in the Thoroughbred Cafe section raises the point that Ka Ying rising, Mr Brightside and El Vencedor have a common pedigree pattern which illustrates the importance of strong female families. Both Ka Ying Rising and Mr Brightside go back on the female line directly to the great broodmare Tiaona ( one of Sir Patrick Hogan's great mares). El Vencedor has a Sovereign Red mare on his bottom line --SR is from Taiona.
-
Yes, correct. TAIONA (SIR TRISTRAM-VICKYJOY) was bred and owned by lady Justine Hogan. SOVEREIGN RED appears in the pedigree of EL VENCEDOR's dam STRICTLY MATERNAL; both KA YING RISING and MR BRIGHTSIDE are direct descendants of TAIONA (mother also of 1982 Caulfield-Melbourne Cup winner GURNER'S LANE, TRICHELLE ...) What a broodmare!
